OK, so I am thinking about getting a black chameleon case for my 360. I am considering the bundle with a controller shell and HDD shell, but I have a question about the HDD shell.

I have heard that the black on XCM cases is alot darker and richer than the 360 Elite's case. I was thinking about getting a 120GB Elite HDD because I like the chrome sides and center more than just black all around (XCM Shell.)

I do NOT want to get the Elite HDD if the black doesn't look right against the XCM case though.

Has anyone had past experience with this?

Learn to paint. It's much cheaper, not much more difficult, and then you know all the pieces will match.

If you're really so concerned about everything matching then you really don't have much choice buying things. The Black XCM case is much darker/shinnier and the Elite is a matte black.

Well I dont mind if they are a LITTLE off, I was just oping someone might have a side by side comparison they could upload or something like that.


Dont really have time to learn to paint, and I kinda want the 120GB

the elite is flat/satin black and the chameleon black is a deep gloss.

you could rub the chameleon case down with a scotch pad and then rub it down with a cutting compound.

this would make the beautifully flat black and a better finish than if you painted a case flat black.

although flat black in a can is very very easy to paint with, so you could paint your white case and get the elite HDD and elite controller.
