From ps3fanboy.com:
If you are a proud owner of Grand Theft Auto IV on the PS3, then you might not be so proud to know that the online multi-player mode is down. Or, at least it appears to be so for PS3 patrons. Numerous players have received errors upon attempting to connect; this blogger included has not been able to get the multi-player to work. An error message pops up: "Cannot connect to game provider, please try again."
My homeboy said he couldn't get on COD4 or Unreal 3 earlier. I haven't had issues yet, but I think we've got the first official PSN crash (at least, that I've noticed).

Seems it's just on COD4, and just for my friend. I played for about 3 hours with no probs. Another friend of mine was playing GTA4 with no problems. Is GTA4 using dedicated servers?

No problems here yet, but I will give it a try later. I am betting that any problems would be more widespread once we hit the weekend and people have time off to play.

working here kind of, but everytime I actually get to play it is severly laggy.
When I first startup the multi player, where the players join, I keep getting the error disconnected from a player, or something like that, and it kicks me off. This happens >75% of the time that I try to do multiplayer, any of the modes.

Ok, well I got the online service to work better. Had to put that IP on the DMZ, for some reason I guess the ports weren't forwarded correctly...
Online is pretty fly, being free makes it even better!
