Please move if this is in the wrong forum. I'm new to this. My Xbox has the SST 49LF020 for its modchip and is currently using the 4981.06 BIOS. But I want to upgrade to 5035 so I can easily change settings such as the flubber colours and whether it boots from DVD with the x2config.ini file.

Any software that I can run from DVD or the HD to do this? I got pblmetoo, nkpatcher and a couple of others from #xbins but I have no idea of how to use them. Any help would be much appreciated.

X2 5035 (512k) is too big for SST49LF020 (256k). But better to confirm this with LordVader or others. I know you can resize a BIOS from smaller to bigger but I don't think the other way round will work.

correct, 5035 cant be cut down any smaller than 512k, so it cant be used with a SST49LF020

also, loading it from the HD (via PBL or nkpatcher) wont do any good, as this would only load after the bios on your modchip (so changes to flubber and DVD booting will have no effect)

IIRC there was another x2 bios with config live (4983 maybe?) and i think the ind5003 might allow that as well (both are 256k and can be flashed to your chip)

Thanks a lot for the information. Do you know of any tutorials online for how to install the BIOS you mentioned? I'm pretty stumped to be honest. What is this ind5003 you speak of?

I'll probably know where to get the BIOS from though. But if it's any trouble, I'll just modify my current BIOS and change the colours/DVD drive settings for that. It would just be nicer if I could change colour settings with the INI file rather than having to reflash it every time.
