BIG FAT EDIT: Oopsie...I thought I posted this in the GENERAL forum...sorry about that. Maybe that Vicodin is a bit more powerful than I thought. Hey, at least general and games both start with 'G'. END OF BIG FAT EDIT

Did I get anyone's attention with that one? See, it's like this....

A week ago I had surgery...my sinuses were 'scraped' to eliminate a 75% blockage from polyps. A rather nasty procedure that I hope to never do again. Anyways, my septum was so deviated that the doctor literally had to graft another part of my septum to it. All this time I thought I was feeling a scab just inside of my nose...actually they were stitches from where he took the graft.

Oh, did I mention the golfball sized cyst that they removed too? sad.gif

It's sooo sad...I've had this whole week off of work and only two days I was able to sit up long enough to actually PLAY my xbox before the throbbing got too bad. grr.gif grr.gif grr.gif I was hoping for a nice little vacation to get some serious gaming in!

The Vicodin hasn't really even done that much. I thought that was supposed to be some potent stuff?

Today I went in for my followup to have my sinuses cleaned out. First he sprayed this numbing stuff up my nose then used tweezers and this vacuum thingy to suck them out. Didn't really hurt but damn it felt nasty. I get to have that done again in two weeks...not to mention the steroids he's putting me on that cause bloating.

Enough about my pity party. Has anyone else gone through any nasty medical stuff lately? Care to share a story or two?

I've got carpal tunnel. I can only play for about 30min to an hour depending on the game. If it's unreal championship....10min....haha. I can play for longer with my wrist braces on but then I can barely hang onto the controller or easily reach buttons. Hopefully it will go away soon so I can get back to the games that caused it in the first place!

(I was hoping a mod would've moved my thread by now dry.gif )

Try this for your carpel tunnel...it really works. Do some research on the internet to find more information. I had/still have it really bad in both hands from work. It was to the point where I'd be awake at night in pain and would drop the phone sometimes during the day.

What you need to check into is "Vitamin B6 Therapy." Basically you load your body up with 200mg of B6 gradually. Start out with like 100mg and work your way up over the course of a week. You don't wanna shock your system because B6 can act as a diauretic. After taking it for about 2 months my pain went from severe to very managable. Now I don't even take it anymore unless if I start to get really sore again...and the doctors were recommending surgery...sheeeesh!!!

I know other people in my office who have used this method with success...read up on it and give it a try. You can get B6 really cheap at Dollar General.

Ingrown toenails. Fixed, though.

They were so bad...here is what the doctors did:
1) Freeze the toes - enough freezing to make my toe ballon to twice its regular size
2) Jab a pair of surgical scissors underneath my toenail, centered.
3) Slowly open the scissors (under my nail) in order to separate the nail from the nail bed (this feels weird)
4) Get a pair of big ass medical vice grips (I start sweating)
5) Clamp down on the toenail, and with a big yank, tear the nail off my toe (this results in a lot of bleeding - I watched the procedure up to this stage, then had to lie back because I was getting a little queasy)
6) The worst is over. They scraped off the nail bed on either side of my toes so they would not grow back ingrown.

The end result is I have big toenails the width a little smaller than a middle fingernail, and about 1cm long. They don't go over the edge of my toe; it looks like they are sunken into my toe a little bit.

Sorry if I grossed anyone out laugh.gif I look back on this and laugh...

I had a ingrown toenail about 6-7 years ago.
They didnt freeze it, but they stuck 3 Needles into the top knuckle area of my big toe, numbed it completley.

Then he like took these Scisors type thing, stuck one part under the toenail all the way to the end, then closed it, cutting and entire side of the toenail off, and with a pully thingy he tore the cut section out, pretty bloody also.

Then he swabed that section with some creamy shit, said so it wont grow back like that again.

To this day, the right side of my big toenail is a perfect straight line from back to tip, it always looks like it was JUST recently cut right down the side. And under that part of the toenail, theres like no feeling, so whenever Toe Fungus and shit gets inder there (which is somewhat often) I just take one side of some Tweezers, jam it in there, and dig that crap out. It smells kinda funny dry.gif

It's not really that disgusting, or anything, but my car got rear ended Sunday. Totalled. The guy hit me doing 35-40 mph while I was waiting to turn left at a light.

Went to the doctor yesterday and such. Mild whiplash. No big deal there, but I've got to get a new car.

For the guy who had polyps I had them removed from my nose a year ago, i got them from really bad allergies. Doctor told me they might come back and its been a year and a half now and guess what....They are back!!! Really sucks and i know what your going through, nose always plugged, sometimes drips, its ridiculous, Might have to get the surgery again or stay on this damn prednisone to keep them from swelling, bad side to that is major freakin weight gain.....hooo hummm sad.gif........Hey how about the pain factor when the doc took that gauze out of your nose......THAT S$%^ HURT LIKE HELL........Good Luck

Yeah. Insurance will pay, but it's still going to be a hassle. I find out how much they're giving me today.

Probably not too much for a 1995 Civic VX.

rotfl.gif Man that was some good reading.

i had an ingrown toenail once, though i didn't go to the doctor with it. i used nothing but my mouth to remove it. started biting away at the hardened skin around it, and then when i got my tooth under the nail i just bit the ingrown part off and ripped it out. bled a little bit, but i haven't had an ingrown toenail since.
