Hi guys. I am looking to buy an xbox 1.6 eeprom. I dont know if it shouldnt be banned from LIVE because I have no intention of using the service. I just bought an old xbox 1.6 with no hdd so there is no way for me to get it running without a 1.6 eeprom. Dont want to bother with an eeprom reader. There may be the case where I wont get it to run even with a proper eeprom but I will have to cross that bridge when I get there.

Am I going in the right direction here? If one of you guys can sell me a 1.6 eeprom can I use xboxhdm and/or configmagic to get my xbox working?

buy a chip that has alredy been flashed for a 1.6...install.....then format a new hdd

I dont want a chip. I will go with a softmod so I need an EEPROM.

without a hdd you will have to go with a mod chip......the xbox will not boot the original bios without it

y are u so dead set on a softmod btw? In cases like this a modchip is perfectly fine and logical choice

To be honest I cant be asked to spend >$50 on something which can be done for free. Trying to revive this box with a modchip will set me back ~$50 and not to mention the fact that after modding my wii I realy hate soldiering. I know you are gonna say - get a soldierless install. That pushesh the price to $80 so its a giant NO. Not only that but the box doesnt exactly look like something I want other people to see - the damage on it is quite visible.

The thing to do now is get an old unopened xbox of ebay from someone who has never heard of a mod (hard or soft) and set it up with a softmod. That way I get it all in 1 go for <$50.

P.S. Where are you from? If you cover the P&P I could still ship. Or maybe you want just the motherboard for the eeprom? Or some other part? Just say what you are after and I will see what I can do. Quid pro quo.
