Hello, I have a xbox loaded with slayers evox +3921.
I can load all other games fine. DVD, and HD.

I have a retail copy of GTA San Andreas "Platinum Hits" NTSC, I try booting this game, it makes it to the intro, shows rockstar logo, music, then it says "Press start to continue". I press start, and it just locks the dvd up, and eventually says the disc is dirty or damaged. (This is a brand new copy, i have tested it in another xbox, works fine.)

I put a copy of San Andreas on the HD, load it, it loads to the exact same spot, and freezs.

I have searched the fourms and found to disable TSR, and IGR, done all those variations, dosn't make a difference other than maybe it won't load at all, and goes back to the evoX screen.
I have cleared the cache all folders, z/x/y, and emptied the cache in E.
I removed any save files from MS dashboard, there currently is no save blocks, I am kinda lost as what to do next.

Any help would be appreciated to get the game to load. Thanks.

Have you modified the game in any way? Like tried to install "hot coffee" or anything? I dont think "Platinum Hits" can run those mods.....

no modifcations added, but shouldn't the retail dvd load past this screen? seems odd that it gets stuck at the same spot. Like it is looking at some file and saying 'what do we do now' and just locks up. I can't find anything anywhere that is keeping GTA files, except the .img files on the cache drives, and the save block it creates that is 6 blocks before it freezes, i have tried deleting the save block it creats as well, loading it up, same thing.
I notice however the HD version creats its own save blocks, and the DVD retail its own (2 seperate save blocks).

No idea what to try to fix this uhh.gif

Thanks for any help

make sure to ftp into your E save game dir and delete all your saves (after backing up) and see if it loads with no conflicting game saves to get in the way.

the original GTA SA game save folder is 54540082
yours should be 545400a3 I think.

if this doesn't work, whats the condition of your dvd drive?
sometimes when the drives start to go, they only read some games and not others. Mine is starting to do that so I'm sticking to my hdd games and don't even play dvds with it anymore...

the xbox1 is gettin in its age so the dvd drive isn't that unlikely, but new ones can be bought if thats the case.

If you have your friends xbox, try putting that dvd drive in yours to see if its the drive or something else

Just posting to say I got the HD way to work great, decided to get rid of EvoX, and resoft, and put UnleashX on, start fresh, seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.
