Hi there, here's one for a first post

I'm looking for some info on drive swapping

I have two faulty xbox 360's

One with a mother board problem and the other with a drive problem

So I'm hoping out of the two to make one working 360

both have been flashed with upgraded firmware to play backups

The 360 witch has a BenQ (VAD6038) drive in has a faulty drive

the other seems to have a motherboard problem with a working drive (Hitachi ROM VER: 0047DJ)

Is it possible to put the Hitachi drive into the 360 with the BenQ drive and if so do you have a link to any info that will show me how to do it, there is so much info out there on this sort of thing it is hard to find the right place to look

I have flashed drives before but have never attempted to swap drives over so the more help the better really

Thanks for your time

If you still have a copy of the original BenQ firmware, you are in luck.

You're basically going to open the Hitachi firmware in DVD Firmware Toolbox, copy the DVD key from the BenQ firmware to the Hitachi and then spoof it as a Benq.

You would then be able to use the good Hitachi drive in place of the faulty Benq.

Job done all sorted

I didn't have the original FW from the BenQ So I just used the drive key from th flashed FW

Worked a treat
