Hi everyone, im new to this whole xbox modding things so bear with me smile.gif

So, i want to find if my xbox is modded or not, if so, how can i find out which mod chip im using and bios details. I bought my xbox several years before (i didnt even know there even was xbox modding then) and its a limited edition one. Anyways, the reasons i think my xbox is NOT orginal are:

-my xbox can play both orginal and copied games (DVDs) bought at shops
-my xbox starts with the blue logo, i read some forums and came to know that there are some mods that start with a blue xbox logo, but their ones can be turned on and off by pressing the power button or the eject button to start the xbox, my one has always starts with the blue logo even when I try to start without the mod chip (thats why im not sure if i even have a chip)

Some extra info of my xbox:

Serial no.: 602 1507 33205
MFG. date: 2003-08-03

K:1.00.5101.01
D:1.00.5960.01
(I saw some people in the forum using this info to get the xbox version and bios version)

So, I was wondering if someone can verify my xbox and bios versions (if they are old, how to update them) and if I can install dashboards like Evolution-X or Avalaunch (if a mod chip is already inside).

I thank everyone who whill help in advance and any kind of help will be appreciated. smile.gif

This forum doesn't tolerate piracy.

Any alternation of the flubber animation including color is indicative of hardmodding - in your case either a modchip or tsop flash.

y not open up your xbox an see if it has a chip if u dont have a chip then it my be a flashed tsop
dulara
ok, i opened up the xbox and on the motherboard, there was a red coloured chip named "Aladdin Advanced" with 11 wires attached from the chip to the motherboard. I guess this is the mod chip?
Millerboy3
yup that would be it.

ok, so since i have a mod chip, is it possible to install Evox dashboard or do i need to update the bios or anything? (I used the xbox version check tutorial and found out that i have v 1.4)
commandersafi
What dashboard does it boot right now?

And you shouldn't have to update your bios
dulara
I think its the original dashboard, there are 4 items in the menu- music, memory, xbox live and settings
commandersafi
You are going to have to burn a boot disk so you can get a dashboard. You can get either Slayers Auto Installer or Auto Installer Deluxe. Get one of them and burn it to a disk your xbox can read and boot from the disk. Then you can install a dash from there
dulara
I think ill go for Slayers Auto Installer, how do you know which disk is readable by the xbox drive? Does the brand matter? Or are all of they the same?
commandersafi
The xbox drives are picky in what they will read. You said you have some burnt disks. Look at what type they are and get the same ones since you know for sure that your xbox will read them

Thanks a lot commandersafi, i used slayer to install Evox and it works fine. Thanks again. biggrin.gif
