I have a 360 that I was working on for a friend. He wanted me to mod the DVD Drive. So I did, using iXtreme1.4_Hitachi_C4EVA_rev1... The drive is a Hitachi 59DJ..
When I first did it, it appeared to lock up during the FLASH.. So I powered down, powered back up and ACK!!! It looked like I bricked the drive...
Powered the PC down, then powered it back up.. Whew.. The drive is OK... So I retried the flash, using 12x and everything worked fine...
Powered down the PC, pulled the drive and placed it on the 360. Everything was hunky dorky.. I booted up a commercial game and let it run for an hour or so.. Things were good.
I put in a backup game. It booted up OK, but after a few minutes, the system locked up. I pulled the game out and powered down the 360. Upon powering it up, it just sat there.
No RROD (Red Ring Of Death)
No GROH (Green Ring Of Happyness)
No Audio, no video, no boot up no nothing. Just the green power LED...
So, after crapping my pants, I pulled the drive off the 360 and put it back on the PC. Did the RESTORE.BAT, put the drive back on the 360 and.... whew!! It booted up, ran a game fine.. Dodged a bullet.
So, thinking that maybe the 12X was the problem, I re-did the DVD Drive using 8x...
Same thing happened.. After using the RESTORE.bat again, I booted the DVD Drive and it booted fine... I put in a commercial game just to make sure everything was working. After a few minutes, the screen went fritzy and the system locked up. Powering down and then back up produced the same NO RROD, NO GROH etc etc.
And that is where I am at now. The system will not boot. It will not give me any error code. It just sits there with the green power LED on and that's it. Even with a diff DVD drive or even NO DVD Drive, that's all it does.
Someone please tell me I haven't fracked up this 360 totally..
