I have forgoten everything about all this Xbox stuff and while I was flashing my drive with the Blaster 360 I thought to my self, "Why do I need to flash my drive?" So that is the question, "Why do I need to flash my drive?" Thanks.

You need to flash the drive to be able to play backups. LOL!!!

Let me guess. You think that Blaster thing is some sort of mod chip? The Blaster has nothing at all to do with playing backups. It is a waste of money and all you had to do was flash your drive and be done with it.

That Blaster is the biggest rip off in the world. They write it up like its the fix to the end of all flashes, but what it doesnt say is that you still need to open up your 360 atleast once for it to work, so then its pretty much useless, since you just did it yourself anyways.

It's not a rip-off. It does what it says and if you read the instructions, it tells you how it's installed.

It's a product suited for people who want the option to reflash again and again without opening their console.

A rip-off is if it said it did something which it doesn't. Personally I have no use for it but I know plenty of people who have it fitted and are happy with the result.

What other tool can you use to flash your drive without having to open it? Is there one? What came before the Blaster? And another question, how can I browse my 360's HDD?

You still have to open it to install the Blaster.

How much hassle is it to take your console apart once a year to update the drive in the slight case that a new hacked firmware comes out for the drive?

I'm quickly getting the impression you've not even bothered to read the information here. I suggest starting with the pinned topics and then moving onto the tutorials. Finally there's Google for anything that you can't find here.
