A couple of years ago I got my xbox modded for me with an xecuter mod chip. everything was working perfectly, I had tons of games on the hard drive i bought. Almost a year passed with no problems, then i finished playing a game and turned off my xbox. When i came back and booted up the xbox the panel from the mod chip on the front of my xbox did not light up and every time i turn it on it takes me to a screen displaying "Service Required." Even though the lights on the front of the mod chip aren't on, the light on the mod chip itself comes on. Is the chip bad, or is the whole xbox screwed, and is it fixable? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Most likely the modchip has stopped working and service error 5 is up because the HDD is not locked.
Check the connections and fitting of the modchip first. make sure the D0 wire is still attached.
I assume the error number is not displayed on the TV...if it is post the number here.
