I finished all the other points, but I messed up pin 6 is there an alternate point for pin 6?

follow the track on the board to the ic chip and solder it directley to the leg if i remember correctley it goes to leg number 8 as you count them up but please check, i haven done a wiikey for a while

yes thats right its the eighth pin from the right
when you say these are differrent solder points do you mean youve used alternative ones

what happened was i got sloppy when soldering pin 6 and basically there is no solder left on pin 6 (not on the wiikey on the board). so can i just run pin 6 from the wiikey to leg 8 on the ic chip?

i wired to the ic chip (pinout 8) when i turn on the wii everything is fine, but the dvd drive is not spinning up. i have checked al the connections...

if the drive is not spinning up its 99% the install .... check all the connections with a test meter and a good magnyfying glass

I connected pin six to the 8th leg with some small wire and its working like a champ.

So Happy I came upon this thread. I did the same thing but on point 3. What guage wire did you use to solder on the IC chip?
