I bought that VIA Sata card, and iPrep is giving me an error when I try to backup my original firmware. It's saying it's failed when I reach the "Press any key to continue, press Y to resend Vendor info, Then power on your xbox for 2 seconds, then off for 2 seconds". My drive is hooked up to the VIA Sata card (I tried both SATA ports on the thing). I've also tried Patching MTKflash in iPrep and not patching it.

Also, I might note that I tried doing this process of flashing on an nForce SATA chipset (my mobo) and that failed in the same place.

I'm using iPrep v007 because 006 always gives me windows errors and wont write to my USB drive...

I use to have the same problems with iprep 006 w/ usb so make a new small [partition 5 gigs and oput iprep on there and boot into dos w/ NTFSDOS if in there it skips your partition just select it anyway its still there but it wont display it.

Swampy: yes, im not stupid, I press any key to continue and it instantly comes up as failed.

sunny: why do I need to create a seperate partition?

To save space in these forums Im just going to post my problems with this also. I flash mine with iPrep also, I get the status to state 0xD1, turn it on and instantly it starts reading through the 0,1,2,3 steps. After this it freezes and states ACD6 and my bios just beeps non stop untill I turn it off. I had my friend walk me though it and he agreed I did everything correctly, still did not work.

Unplug the power to all devices (Hard Drives / Disc Drives)

Then retry, my new system does this:
