So people...here we are. We've been working since October 2007, have utilsed a raft of talent, available through the community...all who have come together to provide a skin for the community to use.

Great to see this skin come to life! I downloaded it with much anticipation and I am glad to say it looks the business, a very nice looking skin and (I think) great functionality.

I'm having a problem though, everywhere I look, the names/titles for sections like My Music, My Movies, etc. just say the word "UPPERCASE".

I'm running 16:9, SD tv. Should there be this problem?
Maybe I should try a newer version of xbmc?

you should be able to switch it to french. swedish works for the most part from some testing so french shouldn't be a problem. did you make a french language folder?

I am using a very recent XBMC

It's freakin' amazing guys. Great work! But, why in the hell do I have "[UPPERCASE][/UPPERCASE]" for all of the options? Can you tell me how to fix this?

I looked at some of the .xml's and found several "[UPPERCASE]&localize32231[/UPPERCASE]" with differing numbers of course. Why isn't the skin finding these?

both of you need to update to the latest XBMC (not just recent, but latest) and do a CLEAN install of xbmc and the skin. once you do, do a reboot.

it sounds that the skin is not fully loaded so I would try it all again.

I just re-downloaded and re-installed it and it works great! This skin is pretty dope.

Wow, this skin looks realy slick. I tested it on XBMC for Linux, and it looked nice. I wish I could use it on my xbox, though, but it won't work on 4:3 SD-TV yet.

ah, yes. It works in 4:3, still needs improvement, though. Sometimes text is too small to read and sometimes images (Album Art) looks squished.

A "few" minor issues I have with this skin:

"Watch your Movies" should take one imidiatelly to the movie library (all movies),
"Watch your TV Shows" to the TV Library (all shows)
whereas "Watch your Videos"should take one to the fileview for videos.

atm, Movies and TV shows *always* take me to file view, no matter if i have been to library the last time.

also, "Music" should probably move to library by default.

Another thing I noticed:

when pressing right on "use your programs" and selecting anything but games (either emulators or apps), it will go to the overview (games/apps/emulators). I assume they should be pointing at the categories by default.

Other than those few quirks: nice skin! Very, Very, Very nice. Might replace Basics Vision once it's optimized for 4:3.

EDIT: come to think of it... all the quirks with the main menu entries not pointing at the right targets... could be an issue with 4:3 not being "properly" skinned atm.

that's how we coded it and how it works for me. not sure why that's not what it does for you. I don't think that would be a 4:3 issue either... i'm assuming you have items in your library too?



hmm, I haven't tested it yet but we did code it to go into specific folders ( i think apps and emus) for the other buttons. i'll take a look.

yes this skin is pretty hot....very clean and professional ....this just might replace PM3 as the default skin on my xbox.....great work...

* Added: Option to move the blade on the home screen further to the left (this is now the default)
* Added: Option to turn off the watched/unwatched icons on the posters/thumbs
* Added: Option to see current weather info on the home screen
* Added: Fanart button on Movie Info dialog
* Added: Option to make the clock bigger

* Updated: Speeded up animations in general tried to speed up the transitions to/from the Settings screen
* Updated: Made the video preview on the home screen full screen (behind the blade)
* Updated: Movie fanart now displays using a largeimage control (should make browsing movies with fanart smoother)
* Updated: Tidied up the navigation of the video info dialogs
* Updated: Now Playing indicator (in the bottom left) should not display when Now Playing UI is not available (movies views)

* Fixed: Issue where music player controls appeared in wrong position on Music Visualisation screen
* Fixed: Blurry text in list when text item scrolls as it is too wide
* Fixed: File Browser appears behind the Video OSD when broiwsing for subtitles
* Fixed: Refresh button in Movie Info dialog
* Fixed: Width of title in Video OSD when non-library video is playing
* Fixed: Songs view now appearing when in Music Playlist screen

There will be a few additional changes included which are still being worked on at the minute.

I will post here later once we have the next build ready for release.

Also some great news for us is that MediaStream will be included in the next T3CH releases so as a team we are delighted about that prospect.

Feature I enjoy alot about this skin is grabbing fanart from websites like thetvdb.com

That's a really nice option, makes the whole thing look so nice and customised. It already looks like a professional style with the black/transp. glossy glass effects and the font choice is fantastic.

Might be my tv, its 37" SD 16:9, but the when looking at media info, plot synopsis etc. for films, the font is a weee bit small for me to read. Maybe just me. and my tv is a tad fuzzy, despite using component. It's an old box really.

I spent a lot of time getting fanart for stuff and then accidentally hit update media info button, which cained it all up and messed up the library, nooo!! my fault really


To the guy who runs xbmc on linux, im not too clued up on the linux ver. Presumably yoyure using it so you can watch HD stuff. How does xbmc on linux run? Is it at a stable state? I dont know where its discussed/downloadable. With this skin, do you notice much speed increase with teh pc's higher ram and cpu? -this skin is quite visually intense. Although I do appreciate the guys have done a good job on making the xbox handle the variety of graphics. - and the new update has aimed to improve transitions speed too, which Im looking forward to seeing in action. - real nice idea about being able to move the blade and clocksize adjust btw.

1. Well, no. the only reason I run it on my linux laptop is because XBMC is the only player I know that allows me to watch movies from .rar files. I mainly use my xbox for movies etc., but when I am on the go, I can't use the xbox (hehe).

2. I was pretty impressed. It seems stable to me, but it is not considered "ready for endusers" at this point. That's why you have to compile the binary from source code.

3. The skin itself does not seem to be "slower" on my xbox. It feels pretty much the same, except for most of the text not being readable.

I am realy looking forward for a nice 4:3 SDTV compatible version

I really like this skin, but for me it doesnt work. I have try to install it twice, but the same as first, this skin doesnt work on my xbox. I have the newest Version of Xbmc (12. August 2008). I have no idea, how i can run it on my xbox.

That is a very strange issue you are having. Can you give us some more info with regards your set up. Also have you placed the skin properly and activated via the appearance settings menu.

yes, i have activated this skin and after quit the settings menu, i see only the text:" upper case " and my xbox doesn't respond.

loving the update...seems a lot faster now but where is the option to move the blade on the home screen...I'm kind of split on it....I think it looked better in the first release but now i'm not sure lol....where is the dvd menu button ? when I'm watching a movie I usually press the menu button to bring up all the options like in other skins like video options, audio options, etc. ...I see the others but I don't see the menu option to go back to the menu of the dvd.....

Good to hear you like the improvements we have made. With regards defaulting back to the original blade position that option is available via the skin specific settings in the settings menu.

We will be adding that DVD Menu button hopefully by next release.

The blades are superb. I was waiting for a skin using a lot of animation, because it makes the experience much more intense. U guys really worked that out fine.

I really like the new fixes and updates in the new release, though i was wondering something:

With the blade placed to the left side of the skin (which is very good), i think it would be nicer to replace the "clock", "weather" and "now playing" to the right side of the screen. Also letting the feed disappear underneath the menublade makes it much cleaner, in my humble opinion.

Hope you guys can do anything with my feedback. Keep up the good work!

Hi all! first of all congrats to all the team for this great skin, it's very cool! I'm an spanish user and I like to use the filmaffinity portal to do the scan of my movies , but the size of the downloaded thumbs with this are very small resolution and it looks very bad. I suggest that it will be great if it can download the thumbs with more quality images like the imdb. I don't know if it's possible or not, but it will be good. Another question I have is if could be possibly to do a file view that shows the movie plot too, not only using the database view. That's all thx for the great work!

A couple of suggestions:

* The option to disable 'filesize' information when viewing MyVideos in 'Files' mode. Most other skins let you choose whether or not this information is present.
* For the skin to remember the 'previous cursor position' when going 'up a level' when browsing content. (would made browsing music a lot nicer).

Finally, the full-screen vis for music, is fine enough. But would people not rather see huge artwork on the screen? -- however I will say that I do appreciate the other infos this skin provides, such as next tracks, prev track etc.etc. -I realise the idea of this skin is to be blade-centric but dosen't it just make a whole lot more sense to use the screen space? (also given that the artwork display size is not sooo huge when browsing the content).

The text size.. I fear this could be quite an issue... the skin has been developed so that it looks a certain way right? images, amongst text, kinda like a nice classy magazine (morely when in library view). But does noone find this text just a wee bit too small? It's great to be able to fit so much info on the screen yes, but at what sacrafice? -would a wee scrollbar look so obscene really?

I run this on a 36" SD tv, 16:9, component cables. My tv is not the most incredible picture, but still I do find the text just a wee bit too small for comfort.
-those with HD tellies, how are you getting on?

When deleting a favorite, there is no text that says delete... Though the option works

Is there any way to get the skin to remember the last view style? For example, when you view videos by library, then back out to the main menu, when you return again the view is by Files, not library.

theres an error i found on the music on the vis. screen


as you can see the upcoming and previous songs display same song, also on the on the milkdrop setting text.
also hope to see a repeat/shuffel buttons on the player. i have to set it to pm3 to have my music on repeat n shuffel. whats wierd is that it was displaying the songs right at one time b4 i updated to newest xbmc/n mediastream skin version

also would like to see a direct link to my games/emus n apps when using the progams tab

instead when i click on an option it takes me to my sources, which display my list of games/apps n emus
also would like to have a wallpaper when browsing my games,apps,emus - the keyborad n mouse dont match with it, imo
overall, this skin is taking over pm3 great job

Have you tried to then set them as default?

This skin looks great and I find it easy to use - I like that you can remove unused items (for me, programs and games) from the main menu.

However, I cannot get it to scrape and add in the info and icons for my TV shows and movies. I installed Mediastream with the aug 19 TECH the usual way, by copying everything over then replacing /userdata with my backed up copy.

I can't find a manual or a readme - any pointers?

To clarify the problem: In library wide mode, I can see the list of shows but they all say "0 Episodes" even though that isn't the case. I have my directories shared and can view and play in file mode.

I just want to say that I love the skin. It is so sleek, I just want to cry! I just have a few questions.



In the above pic, you can see the Programs menu divided into Games Programs and Emulators. Is there a way to make each one 'think' it is it's own menu? When I click on either one, it always takes me to the source screen. So in essence, I think it would be cool to click on Emulators and have it go directly to them, or Games and Programs.

Also, I have never saved a movie on my Xbox before. Do I just have to use DVD2XBOX and save the movie or do I save the ISO? This is the first skin that I want to take full advantage of.

Sounds like you need to set the content of the folder containing your library items. then scan them into your database. once you do, you should be able to see your items in the library.




i haven't tested those buttons, but they were designed to take you directly to emulators and games. what you have to do is add a source called emus for emulators, games for games, and apps for programs. that should then make those buttons go directly to those bookmarks. let me know if this works.

MediaStream is one amazing skin!

I'll second that. It looks very slick and is easy to use so anyone can pick up the remote and use it. I've tried every other skin but always went back to PMiii soon after due to it's unfussy design and ease of use. However Media Stream is a keeper :-)

Is there any way to setup TV just to link to my TV shows and MOVIES just to link to films. I edited sources but they all appear the same in VIDEOS, TV and MOVIES. Also when I've finished watching an TV episode instead of highlighting the file you've just watched so you can easily delete it or move onto the next one it automatically goes back to the start (I'm not using library mode if that makes any diference). Should it do this or is there an option I'm missing?
