First a little history.

I made my first back up yesterday. (And flashed the firmware to ixtreme 1.4 of course, it's a samsung 943 MS25)

Ninja Gaiden II burned fine. Memorex 4x on my Samsung SH-S182M.
It only loads up about a third of the time, but when it does it works fine.
Today I burned SCIV, it gave me a message I had to update, then kinda screwed me over at the purple update screen for awhile, since it didn't always want to read the disc, but eventually I'm assuming it updated cuz it brought me back to the dashboard.

SCIV will a third of the time boot to a black screen where it sounds like the disc is reading, but nothing ever happens, I left it for 10 minutes or so. Hit eject and we go back to the dashboard (the controller doesn't do anything)

I throw NGII back in there, and it does the same thing except after about 5 minutes it actually starts the game, and everything's fine. It didn't used to have that huge lag time though.
So I went online and updated the dashboard to the most recent one, in case that was somehow the problem.?

But we're still stuck there.

I went about verifying my iso's and according to How to Quickly Verify a Burn my size is off.
My size is 7,835,516,928 bytes instead of "7,572,881,408 bytes"

So, I'm not sure if my iso's are wrong. (right now I'm letting xdvdmulleter create a new iso from the one I already had to see if it fits the size) or the dvd's suck, I'm debating on going out to find verbatim 2.4x's, or WHAT.
In any case I wonder why all of a sudden there's a 5 minute lag time between ninja gaiden and why my SCIV won't run at all...

God this is long, but if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

That happened to me when i tried a burned game on my xbox. What I did was to flash the firmware back to original, put in the burned game and wait till it loads. The xbox 360 won't load the game, obviously, but it will read it. Then keep it on for about almost 1 minute or so with the SCIV disc in it and then take it out. Turn off the xbox, then turn it on then turn it off. Basically a power cycle. Then put the ixtreme 1.4 on it then load up SCIV. This should work cause it worked for me. If it doesn't then i think that somebody else should help you.

*I take no responsibility for what happens to your xbox 360 in this process.*

I tried making the 0800 disc to relfash my original firmware, using IMGburn I answered all it's questions (since the is abnormally small) in order to make it dual layer... but when I followed the directions and put it in the xbox it just kept spinning for over a minute, never going quiet and all in all it didn't unlock the firmware deal.

Other than that, do we know if this process may actually work, or why it'd work?

I'm getting really tired of messing with the d-a-m-n thing. I'm sure other people get frustrated too. I'm tempted to just give up on the whole project =(

any more ideas anyone?

use a kreon drive + XBC = perfect copy.

I have the same problem with the size of SC4. I burned it twice and twice the size came to 7,835,516,928 bytes. Everything else passes though..the layerbreak is the right size (despite me not manually setting it in IMGBurn).
