lol. No i dont want to undertake any more tasks.
This was my hobby, now its become a chore. Unfortunately.
With most computer monitors being small in size (inches not pixels) it seems
they have tried to make the images really jump out of the screen.
Now this type of artwork looks great in blur-o-vision (SD TV).
In fact upping the contrast ratio from between 5 - 10 % does the trick for bad artwork.
I tend to leave actual colour saturation alone unless i wish to target something thats lacking.

As far as saving as jpg is concerned, try exporting to an optimised file. Simple "save as" compresses by 20% or more by default unless you specify otherwise in your program options. Now with a jpg this tends to lead to fragments in your picture. These can be easily seen in and around areas where there is colour change. They are visible as small blocks of washed out colour next to a neighboring pixel of full colour. When you export to an optimised file set the value to only 1% compression.

PS. Im far from a pro with these tools.
All im trying to do here is help you with what shoddy knowledge i do have.
Im cetainly no "yard-stick" to measure from.

Hey MM?

I see you've done quite a bit of GBC videos. Great work man, thanks!

I wanted to mention to you that I got Kirby's Tilt 'n Tumble working and that was in between two other videos you've done. There is a version of that game that will work without the tilt sensor of the unit.
ressurectionx
Megaupload is REALLY letting me down here.....

Might have to find an alternative before the new sets come out.

Definately won't be Rapidshare though. That site sucks so bad. It takes 6 minutes to upload a 6MB file and they make you wait up to 5 minutes before you can download something there.
ressurectionx
Come to think of it.... regarding the time it takes to load the synopsis....

I think it's when the roms are 32MB. Maybe the emu has to unzip the rom before pulling up the synopsis info. I just think that's funny if it's true though because it won't pull up the synopsis at all if the roms are unzipped.

EDIT:

Yep...

The only slowdown on the synopsis is the 32MB videos. It seems the larger the game is, the longer it takes to show the synopsis. Mystery solved...

At least Madmab fixed the emu so it will read zipfiles of this size now. Before, you had to have all of the 32MB games unzipped to play, but they play perfectly zipped now. (You also couldn't look at the game's synopsis when it was unzipped).
ressurectionx
Oops...

Hey MM?

I also added "GBC - Godzilla - The Series". This is different than "GBC - Godzilla - Monster Wars" or its full title Godzilla: The Series: Monster Wars. That game came out 1 year later. I had thought before they were the same game. We still need a video for that game as well.

Thanks!

its seems to me that Super Robot Wars OG 1 & 2 are missing from the GBA dats/artwork...
as well as boktai 2,
could anyone explain why?

They're both added now. I think you'd be REALLY hard pressed to find anything missing now. cool.gif

I do believe I am done adding new games to the 3 systems.

Looks like all Gameboy videos are now done.
With just a few entries left that MM? is doing, we're nearly complete with Gameboy Color videos.

And.... we have 181 more Gameboy Advance videos to do.

Almost there!!!!!!!
Mega Man (?)
Got it Rx, wink.gif
I'll be finishing the GBC videos, within the next few days...
stupot1 finished the GB one...? Nice...!

Who ever is doing GBA videos, please come forward smile.gif we don't want people doubling work.
Blitz, people.... Blitz... biggrin.gif

It is my pleasure to introduce you all to the XBoyAdvance Synopsis.... cool.gif

Gameboy/GB Color/GB Advance[XBoyAdvance] (12-13-09)

[HOT POTATO = Ressurectionx]

EDIT: Does anybody know where to find an HQ Game Boy pack? The GBC and GBA images are all top notch, but we could use an upgrade on the regular GB.

Thanks,

I'd have to double check but chances are the reason it's not pulling up the synopsis on large unzipped ROM's is because there is not enough free memory to read the ROM in to calculate the CRC32. The reason ZIP files work is because all it is really doing is pulling the CRC32 from the zip file since it is stored in there already.

I'm really not sure if there is any way to calculate the CRC while reading the file in pieces.

ressurectionx
No biggie. Were talking about 15 games out of about 2,375 if you don't include the Video roms.
ressurectionx
Didn't do too much today with the Xtras, but I did add the TCP HD Genesis artwork.

Looks great man MM?. cool.gif

Thanks for all your work putting that together. There were a few that I didn't add because they were the megadrive version when we have a US version already, but I could put them as alternative boxes.

Well I got the startup movie feature enabled today and finally got all the features I wanted in the MediaBrowser working... Here is a summary of the controls..

CODE
Controls for text browser

A -> Start Search
B -> Exit
X -> Continue Last Search
Y -> Simulate width font

White -> Previous file
Black -> Next file

Start -> Help screen

Dpad -> Up/down, Left-> Up Page, Right-> Down Page
Left Analog button -> Set font size
Left Analog Up -> Top of file
Left Analog Down -> End of file
Right Analog button -> Set text screen size
Right Analog left/right -> decrease/increase fixed-width font size

Left/Right triggers - Move up/down text file.

Controls for screenshot browser

B -> Exit
Y -> Delete file (Utilities-> browse screenshots only)

White -> Previous file
Black -> Next file

Left Analog button -> Music Control Menu
Left Analog up/down -> Move screen up/down.
Right Analog left/right -> decrease/increase screen size.

Anywho.. The way I have it set now. If you are viewing a scan of a manual (not a text file) if the size of the image is larger than your text file screensize settings it will just expand out the image to full size (within your text file window).

If the image is smaller than your text file screensize settings it will work as follows.

If the image is taller than it is wide it will continue expanding the image ( based on aspect ratio) until the width fits within the width of your text file screensize width. (Most normal manuals)

If the image is wider than it is tall it will continue expanding the image ( based on aspect ratio) until the height fits within the height of your text file screensize height. (For example NES manuals).

This seems to effectively stretch the image in the best manner possible for scanned manual reading.

A couple of features I was thinking of adding..

A reset button (per say) that will reset your screen as if you loaded the image for the first time (bookmark settings will be reset).

A "middway" button. This button will locate your screen "window" so that it lies halfway on either the X axis ( width>height aka NES manuals) or halfway on the Y axis ( height>width most normal manuals). I figured this would make navigating scanned manuals a little easier....

Any comments?
ressurectionx
I can't think of anything now madmab, except that we've been waiting for this for a long time and I'm glad to see that it should be in there soon. It's kinda hard for me to wrap my mind around things unless I have them operating in front of me.

Hey MM? Thanks again for those Genesis boxarts. cool.gif

Here's my answer to your comments about those in question and some other things....

1) Ballz 3D is indeed only named "Ballz" in my set. Don't know how that happened. It's good in the synopsis though. I'm sure there are other small things like that here and there. Keeping my fingers crossed for a way to display the synopsis name in the emulator. It's a lot easier changing that then the rom, artwork, movie and saves.

2) That was the right boxart for Landstalker: The Treasures of King No. It doesn't happen too often, but sometimes the title of the game while playing is slightly different than the boxart. This may be what happened here.

3) If that Pele isn't the true boxart, than I didn't have the real one before because I had a lower quality version of the one you provided.

4) TMNT Tournament Fighters (EU) boxart is named "0005". I also did this to about 6 other boxarts that you provided that were the european version. (That really is a great looking box. You were right about that).

5) 6 Pak is not included in the Xtras. I made a decision long ago not to include multi-carts if they're just the same games already in the sets. That means that "Triple score 3in1" is not in the Xtras either. I also did the same for Nintendo, as you can see. I have all of the separate versions of "Super Mario Bros.", "Duck Hunt" and "World Class Track Meet" and I do not include any of the multi-carts that had those games.

Well... I think that's about it. We're all done with the Genesis artwork now. I'll also get those NES and SNES images integrated into their sets as well.

Now... who'd like to help with collecting the 125 or so Gameboy covers from thecoverproject? cool.gif

http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cat_id=12

That is really the only major system I can't find good boxart for. Almost all games are accounted for, but some of those boxarts are around 30k PNG files. Gameboy boxart, overall, doesn't look bad in the emulator, but you can still tell a difference between that set and the usual standard even if you know nothing of ratios and sizes.
ressurectionx
Wow... I forgot how much work I put into these Sega CD and 32x Boxarts among the others I've worked on...

I barely even remember doing this boxart for the TimeCop prototype on the SEGA CD.

IPB Image
Mega Man (?)
Excellent work guys...

madmab,
I am really glad to see that. cool.gif
I will be great to see this in action...cause I know there will be many things it will be useful for.

Rx,
It all looks good,
Thanks for addressing these things so meticulously.
Wow, is that a custom boxart?... nice.

Expect those last 55 (or so) GBC videos within the next few days.
45 of them are made... I just have to finish those last ones, and find the time to sit down and do them. (the week is looking pretty busy.)

GBA videos anyone....

Anyone...?
ph34r.gif
ressurectionx
Haha, yep... Custom Boxart. cool.gif

Genesis makes it easy. I just took another SEGA CD game, and pasted over the game with the DVD cover for TimeCop and there ya go. Dirty little Paint job, but I thought it really rounded out the set well. It was the only game that didn't have boxart before and I was using the image of the game magazine cover that the prototype was included in. I didn't care for the image much, otherwise I would have used the magazine cover for the custom boxart.

LOL... I thought I was done with Genesis. I forgot where I was, is all. I was done with 32x and SEGA CD, but you told me to hold off on editing Genesis boxart until you got the HD stuff to me. Now I get to go through all the images and do some replacing, cropping and other editing. cool.gif

It's totally worth the extra effort though. The NES, SNES and most of the Atari's already got this final Rx touch-up and they look awesome in the emulator.

Still waiting on somebody to do GBA videos, somebody to find or collect high quality Gameboy (regular) boxart, and waiting on Gilles' generics for a few systems.

EDIT: Oh yeah... and I'm still waiting on dnyce to get his upgrades to the NES boxart to me as well. I was getting updates and he sounded really excited, and now it's been like 10 days since I last heard from him. Hope everything is alright with him and he gets that work to me soon.

EDIT2: Hey MM? What do you think about separate boxart packs that are as low quality as we can get without looking bad. Excalibur and I were talking about it before and he seems to think he knows a few ways of shaving the size of the artwork sets quite a bit. This would not only save hard drive space, but it should increase performance as well.

I will not in any way replace the HD sets we've got now, but I think we'd benefit from doing some conversions en masse when we're all ready to get the Xtras out there.

As an example, I was replacing "Brutal: Paws of Fury" in my set. The original image was something like 350px wide x ??? px tall. It was pretty grainy though for being so large. I found a much better looking image for it online, but it's only 150x210. Once it's up on my TV though, it looks great, even though the image on the TV is probably 8 times larger than what my computer screen shows this one as.

Here's the image...
IPB Image

Like I said... it's small, but looks pretty damn good on my box. Much better than the artwork twice the size that I was replacing.

QUOTE
EDIT2: Hey MM? What do you think about separate boxart packs that are as low quality as we can get without looking bad.

I think it's a great Idea. smile.gif
especially if there is a way to take the sets we have now and just, convert them.

Remember:
The current sets are not only the highest quality... but, we have weeded out bad images and such,
like ones that were just crappy or had marks, corner dents, bad scans, etc...

I would hate to see effort put into re-finding boxarts individually, just to get good images, that are lower sizes.

Converting what is in the sets now, has got to be the best way.

cbagy
Try reducing them to 256 colours rather than 16 million.
This will reduce file size without having to resize them.
You could resize them smaller and reduce to 256 colours.
This produces nice files that dont affect performance and look good.
So ive heard anyway !
ressurectionx
I just can't believe how amazing this all looks man.

Bring a bib when you finally download these new packs when they're completed. cool.gif

I'm really going through the images for each system one by one now. I'm trying my best to find the top shelf images out there and then touching them up if they still need it.

For most systems, it goes great.... Others... not so much.

Gameboy and Genesis come to mind....

Dirty, dirty

There really are no good Genesis images out there besides the HD ones at TCP.com, are there? The boxart sets I found were of the lowest quality of any popular system besides (possibly) the black and white Game Boy. Finding better images one by one online is really hit-or-miss too....

I have a lot of images that max out in the mid to high 300's in pixels, but when you really look at them in their natural size it looks like crappy blow-up jobs of images half their size done in M$Paint. It's too bad those images I'm finding online that max in the lower to mid 200's weren't about twice as big. There are a lot of images that I have with much higher resolution that I'm dumping for smaller pics because the colors aren't so washed out. I hate trading out an image for one half its resolution, but honestly, the XBox displays small images great without the need for insane sizes like we're using, so we can afford it until somebody takes better pictures someday and shares them. Those small images with a much better overall "tint" to them are making the cut, while larger washed out colors are being dumped.

In the end, I know I will be very pleased with how the boxart for Genesis and Gameboy look, but I know that when stuff keeps getting higer resolution and technology grows, these are the two systems that are going to need upgrades on the artwork first.

All that being said... yeah, we need to have the images reduced in an alternate set that is exclusively for use with the XBox. It will simply be mass conversions of our official packs that are optomized for use with the XBox. I've heard people mention the highest ratio that we can benefit from, but I forget that now. Once we have the full artwork packs ready, we'll have a meeting of the minds here and figure out the best way to do this. Ex tells me that in Photoshop you can have a whole bunch of stuff done to a large batch of images on the fly if you know how to set it up.

Basically, we're going to make XBox compliant thumbnails of our ultra-high quality stuff. Whatever the Box can handle, that's what we'll make them.

Now you guys figure whatever that is out amongst each other, and when you come to a conclusion make sure you remember what it was. If it's different for each system, because of the shape of the box, make note of that too.

When the time has come that we're ready, having that information handy would be of great benefit to the project.
madmab
Ok. Looks like I'm gonna go with

Back -> Reset image to default settings/view.

Dpad -> Up/Down/Left/Right -> Move image 1/4th the total size of the image.

For the screenshot viewer. The text file viewer pretty much doesn't need anything like that.

I should be able to test that fairly quickly.

That only leaves the seperate Bcart display time Auto Configuration and one other thing which I'd rather not say in case it doesn't work. But after those two I'd feel pretty comfortable with some type of release for now.
cbagy
Got a good PM this morning elaborating on a much needed feature for Madmab's Xport Editions.
Already made demo media for the team to test. PM'S sent.
madmab
Got the email, have not had a chance to try it but just convert the video to an .xmv file and copy it into your skins directory. Then go into emulator, skin configuration, loading menu, and use the menu option to select the video file. It will then ask you if you want it to be full screen. If you want it in a window you can specify where it will display. Then of course you can save the configuration if you have multiple configurations.

If you exit out and back into the "loading menu configuration" it will show the video unless it is full screen (I think). Can't remember ATM.
ressurectionx
I'll have to try this out....

It's not going to replace Gilles' intros, is it? I really like his splash screens. cool.gif
madmab
It's a sample cbagy sent me but I'm guessing he has use for it in mind for his own skins. Gilles plans on cooking up his own video.
ressurectionx
Interesting. Looking forward to seeing these in action. cool.gif

BTW... Just completed fully upgrading the Genesis boxart. About 90% or more of the images are now in excellent quality.

If I never remove another watermark from a box in my life it will be too soon. grr.gif

Seriously.... Maybe I should put an "Xtras" watermark on every damn box now and piss the world off. It's not even legally their images, so that just burns me.
ressurectionx
Nice....

Bandai Wonderswan is going to be EASY...

There's only a handfull of games that look playable to an English speaking person. This emu seems really heavy on RPGs, Card Battles, and Turn-Based Strategy games which are impossible to play if you don't speak English.

Probably will only need to do a few videos for it.

BTW Gilles, I love the song you used for it. A guitar based version of the Opera scene in Final Fantasy III (US).

cool.gif
cbagy
Thats correct Madmab, its just a sample video for testing purposes.
The stipulation was not to go crazy, so i made a real simple quick video.
I thought, 348 kb for an intro.xmv, with sound was about right.
It only runs for 4 seconds which is good for the end user as once viewed
the novelty would soon wear off if it was real long.
ressurectionx
Oh cool.... The Wonderswan has boxart at gamefaqs and it's really good quality. I didn't know if we'd have boxart for this system or not.

Looks like out of a total library of over 210 roms, I'm keeping around 32 of them for the sets. I'll get to work on the artwork and synopsis. If nobody shows any interest in videos I'll make some crappy ones myself as filler for now.

Maybe I'll figure out how to make Chip8 vids then too since there are none for that system, but the artwork and synopsis are done for it as well. Probably finish wrapping up Colecovision and Virtual Boy too (synopsis and artwork upgrade). Probably have to make some Supervision videos too.

Then there's the TI99 and the X68000 to work on.

After that, when hopefully everything else is done and up-to-date, I'll finally get around to the Atari 800 with madmab and Stupot1 and figure out what needs to be done there still.

Then it's Arcades and we're done.

Man I love having the Gameboy out of the way finally. cool.gif
ressurectionx
Crap.....

Could somebody tell me what the easiest way to crop videos is? I just made a whole batch of Wonderswan videos and didn't realize my screen capture was selecting the entire window and not just the game screen so it has the bar with the FPS on it.
Mega Man (?)
Rx,
  1. Open Windows Media Encoder: ("custom session" should be fine)
  2. Click the compression tab
  3. Where is says destination, hit the edit button (on the right)
  4. hit the import button
  5. find the wmv profile (that we use) titled "WMVXMV" (looks like the red/yellow/blue icon)
  6. open it and press OK. (now you have our custom settings loaded)
  7. click the "video size" tab"
  8. under "method", select custom.
  9. crop your video accordingly (sides must stay equal) You''ll have to do test ones to find the right crop.
  10. click the "sources" tab
  11. check: source from: "file" (this is how you will load every file)
  12. click on the "output" tab.
  13. check box, "archive to file" :
  14. now hit browse:
  15. Now name and place your output file accordingly.
  16. Then, just press "start encode"
You will have to make sure the quality and cropping is OK.
Unfortunately....because you are cropping, you must load and save every file like this individually,

Good luck. smile.gif

EDIT: oh and... hopefully your videos are still in .avi format, after doing this process, they will all now be .wmv
ressurectionx
I said "Easy" man....

LOL

Thanks for that, but my computer runs so slow it's going to take me 2 hours to figure out the right crop, and another 5 minutes at least to convert each video that way. WME seems like an awesome program if you're running at least a dual core, but it's always been slow as hell for me... I mean, it's the slowest program I've ever used on any PC.

I guess I have to do them all over again from scratch.

Thanks MM?
Mega Man (?)
Damn...
I promise...it would be easy, if your PC was faster, and you set is up like I showed.
Oh well...
good luck. smile.gif

ressurectionx
I actually did it while doing some other stuff to keep me busy. Worked a charm, just like you said.

Yeah... my PC blows...

It wouldn't bother me if it were only the conversion that took a long time, but it's like any time I change a single option in WME or load a new file, the program locks up from 30 seconds to a full minute before letting me do something else.

I only had 8 videos, so it probably would have just been quicker doing them over, but this way I learned something new, right?

Thanks again,
~Rx
ressurectionx
Well there were about 220 roms for Wonderswan total, and only 32 made the cut.

They now all have videos and artwork. cool.gif

Just gotta make the synopsis now....

EDIT: Wonderswan synopsis complete. One more Xtras pack down. cool.gif

I have finished my Winuaex compatibility list.

Have a look here:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0At...ZOc2c&hl=en

2068 titles reviewed and 2297 settings created. 27 aren't working, 38 are imperfect. I selected the best versions and tested all the floppies and I've corrected them when necessary.
Every game can be launched with a click: 2012 are working perfect and I announce you I'm running for president (for France, of course, since I'm taller than the current).

I will provide a datfile and the settings (only 3 megs when archived) this weekend.

Then we'll talk more in detail about this subject on a specific topic. Mappings needs to be added to the settings and then I'll have to re-re-re-check again.
madmab
Wow looks like I may have to start getting busy sometime soon. I still have a few code changes I need to integrate into the x-port interace. I just recently converted Vice64 so Stupot can do his thing.

I take it you didn't run into any issues with the beta I sent you?

It'll be interesting to see how many hits I get on your .dat file. My Amiga collection is a bit spotty. laugh.gif

I figure maybe for starters I can code up the parts that will "store" your configurations and allow the user to select them if the CRC matches and then send that your way when I get a chance.
waal
I didn't receive the beta, yet. smile.gif
I'd be glad to test it because I've already started to work on hd games. I'd like them to be launched automatically and I need to use a fast amiga loader based on workbench and whdload.

But I don't think there will be much difference with your version regarding disks because I never used JIT. Also take a look at the non working games, you'll see it's sometimes specific to the Winuaex core. I know Xport tweaked it to run smoother so it looks like there's a memory hole with a few (old-bad) games. There is also the lack of keypad which prevents launching some games. Regarding the keyboard, do you think it's possible to replace the image ? We miss the specific amiga keys.

Anyway, performance and compatibility of this emulator are excellent.

For the datfile, I guess you'll find much because many are from gamebase which is based on tosec and most are from tosec itself. And I tried alternative versions just to see and it often works fine. It's the cracktro or trainer menu that makes the difference actually. The wole game set is 2gb by the way.

And yeah, it would be great if you store those settings in the emulator itself.

Btw, what's Stupot is doing with vice64 ? Improving gamebase ?

Doi! blink.gif For some reason I was thinking I sent it your way. Really the only things I did was..

A) Convert it to the Madmab Edition code ( dual preview, movie preview ) , etc.
cool.gif Set JIT to default to 0.
C) Adjusted the "Clip Excess Video Borders" option (improved).

D) Changed the code so that drive DF0: would ALWAYS be enabled. I figured no biggy cause for the most part it makes sense to always have DF0: enabled anyways. This fixes the DF0:??? error.

E) If the file selected is (or contains) a file with the extension .whd the emulator will mount that file to DH1: and set DH0: to point to D:\\_whdload.hdf. So two things... make sure your WHD files have a .whd extension. Make sure the _whdload.hdf file is in the emulator directory (unzipped).

E was intended to be used with some stuff KillerGorilla was working on, but he seems to have gone AWOL. But it may be useful to you.

I think I never sent it to you because I was waiting for you to come up with a list of potential pre-config controller settings. Who knows... I can send it to you in the meantime and when I get a chance I'll add the ability for you to save your configs (It's kind of a hidden feature I use to create the master config database).

Interesting... I always wondered about that cause there seemed like a couple games that would cause the emulator to get fruity so I figured it was most likely some type of memory leak. As for the keyboard.. Not too sure if I'm up to that. Although I did it for Atarixlbox, to be honest the code is kinda scrappy (a hack). laugh.gif But I did notice that X-port allows you to define the numpad to controller buttons.

If someone is willing to take the currently existing numpad image (used in certain x-port menu's) and expand it out to have the surrounding keys. Maybe I can do something that will allow to bring that up when they wish (either an "in game" menu option or mappable to the controller).

Hmmm maybe it won't be as bad as I'm thinking.

And yeah, it would be great if you store those settings in the emulator itself.

Btw, what's Stupot is doing with vice64 ? Improving gamebase ?
That's the idea... To make it easier for those unfamilar with the Amiga so they can get some enjoyment out of it. That was kinda my goal with Atarixlbox.

Stupot was gonna drum up some videos for the RessXtra's and I'm guessing come up with a more manageable game list. Maybe even throw together some box/cart art for us?

waal
Yeah you're right about the settings. Now that I have finished with the whole set, I can work on it this evening and submit you some files. I think to do at least one for general use and one for the mouse controlled games. Once we agree, we'll have to apply them to the whole romset.

I'm eager to try the new version. I think _whdload.hdf Killergorilla would be very useful and this WHD extension would save me much time. I'm ready, I have all games set on windows.

For mappings and hardrive files, my priorities are listed in the spreadsheet. Look the HDF update and TOP tabs.

And it's good to learn that X-port allows you to define the numpad to controller buttons. I will do this so we can play some Ishar versions.

Hey Rx,
I don't know what is going on... but I can't get any upload sites to work for me...wtf grr.gif
The soonest I can mess with it again is some time tomorrow. The GBC videos in red, are ones I still have not completed. let me know what is up with those. (if someone else does them)

Cool MM? Just let me know when you can get them to work. I wonder why we've been having these problems??? Megaupload was awesome about 3 months ago, but now it's always hit or miss. I've noticed a lot of problems with the others too...

Anyways.... Pokemon Mini synopsis is done and weighs in at a whopping 9kb. 8 games included.

I'm going to crank out those videos sometime tonight I think.

Get Winuaex settings for 2068 games here.

This is version RC1. Right now you can launch games with a single click for full performance. Next version will include mappings, Now you'll have full compatibility as shown in my spreadsheet (see previous posts).

And the dat file is here.
This datfile lists 4045 amiga floppies containing 2068 titles I have selected. See readme file for more informations.

RX, feel free to link those files in the initial post of this topic.

Madmab, I worked on mappings but i'll post later coz of french wine.

See ya !!!

zzzzzzz...

Sounds good waal. You've really been working, haven't you?

I've just wrapped up Virtual Boy. It still needed some artwork and about 7 synopsis entries, plus the headline info for all the games was old (only 5 lines and no underline). So that's all taken care of now.

We're going to need a "Homebrew" generic boxart for that one too.

Yeah.. I would say that he has been quite busy! laugh.gif Those configurations will eventually be "integrated" into a WinuaeX config database.

We may want to integrate it into the Xtra's. The sets he uses should be relatively easy to find. For now I would say make the config and .dat files available. They should be useful to people using the last released Winuaex. Once I drum up a releasable madmab edition than we can probably slap together some Xtras.

madmab
Hey waal... Is there any reason you split the multi disk games into seperate archives? Or is it due to WinuaeX savestates getting mixed up about what disks are in what drives?
waal
I found confusing to regroup all adf in one zip in addition with the mix-up of WinuaeX recording the last used disks position. So I considered it was safer to have an archive per disk. It has also simplified management because I frequently had to check each disk.
And I like to use the rotate disk feature especially for two disks games.
There was also a choice to be made due to game versions (disk (1) (trainer) or not for instance), some settings having common disks in use (disk (2) etc...).

By the way, The settings are always linked to disk 1. And in certain case to the disk labeled "boot", i.e Game Name (3) (boot).

Yo Waal seen your other post this morning, thanks for all your work on this checking it out now.
ressurectionx
I probably won't have a chance to look at that stuff for a while waal, but great work man. Whatever you get accomplished I will include with the Xtras if that's your desire.

I just finished the touching up of Colecovision boxarts. They look great now. cool.gif

Should have the synopsis up to code by tonight sometime.

Then I gotta figure out what other loose ends I'm going to wrap up next. There's so many little things to do all over the place.

EDIT: Colecovision/ADAM synopsis, videos and artwork complete (well... still missing one video, but I'll figure that out today sometime).
ressurectionx
How's the GBA video creation going, anyone who said they'd help and are on top of it?

Don't let me break your concentration 'cause I'm all over the map with what I'm working on. Gameboy Advance is a system far too advanced for me to make videos for that don't skip and look horrible. I'm counting on you all to get those done while I wrap up the synopsis, videos and artwork for a large number of other systems.

Let's get excited people.... I can finally start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

D-Day is approaching quickly biggrin.gif

Does somebody have a good set of SNES boxart?

I now see what people were telling me about them. They do have bars at the top and bottom and I'm not going to go through each one and remove those bars. I think I added those bars back before I first spoke with madmab and I didn't know crap about skins and I wanted the boxart to fit nicely in the boxes provided.

I have all the TCP stuff for the system, but I need to replace all of these lower quality images and those dumb bars. (Hopefully with higher quality stuff anyways).

Please let me know,
