Hey i'm looking to get a new dl burner and from reading here the dvr-111d is the best choice...but they are sold out everywhere! are they still being made/re-stocked or is the drive past its life cycle and im SOL? Is there another drive thats comparable or an external version of it or something? Whats the next most reliable drive to get?

Depends on where you live, here in the US the 115 is being phased out for the 116 right now. Either way though a good choice.

o ok so even tho alot of the threads were talking about the dvr-111d, the dvr-115/6 is just as a reliable drive as the older version?
thanks

Go for the 115 or 116 and you will be fine. Definitely don't go on ebay though. I strongly recommend
http://www.newegg.com. Much better than ebay since you get the full fledged warranty and don't have to worry about getting screwed over. You won't really save any money by going the ebay route either after factoring in shipping.
