Hello, i bought a 1.4 Xbox that came with the chip in the pictures. From the info i was i able to gather it's a some kind of cheapmod. The version of the BIOS i have currently is displayed as "X2 4979.06".

This is the chip used: M27C4001-10F1

And two photos:

The chip.

And the cables that run to the motherboard.

I want to put a VGA BIOS on my XBOX, but as long as i can see the only option for me with that kind of modchip is to flash it with UV light, and then use a programmer to flash the new BIOS on it or TSOP the box.

If someone confirms my suspicions, i guess i'll be posting in the TSOP thread soon unsure.gif

Thank you in advance happy.gif

You can use a BFM VGA bios. Frosty's VGA boot disc for example.

I cannot make out anything from the images you posted. A cheapmod usually has a SST 49LF020 chip on it.
