2 on Xenon and 1 in Zephyr

I had the Xenon which RROD'd sent to MS. Which when I received gave it to my nephew....I bought a RROD xbox360 for cheap....Zephyr...has RROD'd but did the xclamp trick...and haven't had problems since.

On a side note....any word on when Jasper have been seen out in the wild...or when they will be shipped?....or even the Vahalla chips...but I think odds are better on getting a Jasper one.

I have had 2 falcons due to a trade, one was mine and one traded for a bike. I sold one of them to a friend and he got band after I told him not to go online with backups because his brother did it anyways, then about a month later he told me he got the rrod, I felt bad about that. Mine is still cranking along though. Really sad to see more yes's than no's in the poll

I've had it on 4 Xenons. 2 are fixed and running great (fingers crossed and knocking on wood). 1 seems to be ok after tightening the screws (forgot to tighten them the first time ). And 1 piece of !#@%$ won't stop Rrod'ing on me. I stopped putting it back together. I'm going on my 4th or 5th fix for this one. It's killin' me! Thanx Microscrap!

my old Xenon got RROD in Q4 2006 - got a replacement after that & its still going strong

Another one of my friends went while we were modding it, I said to him "Well that's the definition of irony isn't it!" as it was only like 20-30 mintues after the warrenty was removed. It's fixed now though I think it was a Zephyr

I'm not sure what version mine is (manufacture date was 10/2006), but I got the RRoD last night while playing GoW2.

I recently discovered the xclamp fix and just fixed 3 RROD 360s this last weekend. They were broken for the last year of so. All the first gen. One more to fix for another friend.

My son just sent in his '3rd' 360 over 2 years. What a PITA. Let's hope the 4th one works better than the first 3. How can MS possibly make any money from this system.

1 Zephyr. Just died a couple days ago, still waiting for my shipping box.
I purchases and Arcade Falcon to play while I wait for my box to return.

I got 2 on Xenons(1), but today my console (got it repaired 2 years ago from MS) stopped showing video, but it doesn't show RRoD.

I bought an Elite (Zephyr) in July 2007, got the RROD 4 months later, they sent me a replacement (Zephyr) after that and it began artifacting a couple months ago so I went ahead and bought a new arcade (Falcon) and slapped my 120GB HDD on it.

Had my Xenon 360 for a year or two now and it just RRODed on me, did the x-clamp fix and lapped my heatsinks works like a charm now.

Well, now that the Jasper is out, add Jasper to the list.

me and everyone i know who has a 360 had experienced the Rrod @ some point . too bad we all voided our warranties about an hr after buying the 360 . but @ $199.00 it no biggie to get another one

Xenon from 2005, after wow 3 years? First RRoD, then Fix and remounting GPU chip and he died again

I got the rrod on my falcon and I sent in the console to get fixed about a week ago.

Do you think I will get the jasper motherboard, when i get my console back?

and if so I assume they would have to send me the 150w power brick as well.

More to add, fixed a rrod falcon right on the spot at my birthday so we could continue playing after the other kid had to leave (actually fixed prior that week as well) That falcon had one f**ked up error code, you would press sync and eject and it would keep saying 0 or 1 and would never go back to the rrod once and a while it would give others but almost would never return. I took my chances and it worked, although we had to overheat in the process and we thought it was screwed because it took almost 20 minutes to overheat so we boiled some water on the gpu sink for fun. After it cooled down and after the strangest error codes we had it worked. Go figure. I think the other kid had Zephyr but I am not positive, broke while we were flashing, go figure but it all turned out good in the end.

got a launch 360 from e10m and a second one when cod4 came out as my launch was MIA.. finally got my launch 360 after it was transported from minnesota to oregon to ontario then home... i was very very suprised to see that it wasnt rrod after that

either way, never seen an RROD console in person only heard of it.

i already voted xenon but i just got a jasper today.

i was really excited until i did some testing and found the the gpu actually gets hoter (or at least dosent stay any cooler) then its 90nm counterpart.

this is starting to make me think that M$ will never make a console that dosent have the root cause of 3rlod (i.e. overheating).

I got my Xbox 360 back last week. Apparently it was something they could fix, because I got the same one back (same SN). I peeked inside the case, and I still see a copper pipe, so it looks like I didn't get an Opus motherboard.

On the positive side, they renewed the 1-yr warranty. They were also "nice" enough to give me 1 month free of Live Gold. Sheesh.

Oh, am I blind or Opus is better than Falcon, maybe not much people have Opus , so not many rrods for it are reported.

I'd say your Pro is a Zephyr, you can easily determine if it's a zephyr or a falcon by looking at the power supply 170W means falcon, 205W means Zephyr.
Do the same with your elite, it's probably the last of the Zephyr's but check the power supply.
Though both Falcon and Zephyr are pretty reliable in my experience.

Those numbers are sadly pathetic. I don't know what version mine is (only because I haven't checked), but it hasn't RRoD'd, but I do have 3 friends' who did (1 friend has had 2 boxes RRoD). Seriously? That's ridiculous. 2 out of 3 xboxes die.

Wow. This has been up for a while now, and the numbers are pretty much the same. I still think that the 1 out of 3 people whose 360s didn't break, is because they just haven't played it enough. Unless of course, they already removed their x-clamps to begin with.

My Xenon is better than ever since I fixed it's 3rrod error. It's now been played way longer after the 3rrod, than before!

Mine is a 2006 360 a Xenon fer sure and it rroded on me last month after a solid 2 good years of gr8 gaming ....now tried to do the X-clamp fix but no show...guess i will have to wait fer the Jasper's when they launch them here in Bombay . In the meanwhile will try to get this baby fixed...hope so

I have a launch console and still no RROD.
I take it apart regularly and clean off the fans and heat sinks to prevent dust ruining the cooling ability. It's surprising how quickly they clogged up when the console's used so much.

I've learned that leaving my Falcon 360 on 24/7 in standby mode keeps the system working. Even if I only turn it off for a day or two, when I try to play it games will freeze and then I will get Red lights. Somehow leaving the system on standby 24/7 sytem works all the time.

I voted no, although I had a RQoD (Red Quarter of Death).

Have my original Xenon..... had a 3 RRoD at the beginning.... managed to fix it by pressing on the heatsink .... it eventually gave out on me and brought it to my modder for repair(issue was RAM chip zapped). Fans are now tweaked and drive is flashed. Has been going strong for awhile now(knocks on wood).

Had it on Xenon. Now I have Falton with external fan. Hopefully it won't happened again.

But now mine's in the shop for a RRoD, happened two weeks back.
Zephyr for me

My falcon just died today. Bought 4 months ago. Very light gaming use, about 4 times a week, never more than 2 hours each time. No freezing before, no error messages. It was working perfectly and then POW! a rrod out of nowhere.

Yup my Falcon 360 just failed, getting Error 74 and checkered graphics all across the screen.Was used heavely, average 6 hours a day.Always in the Horizontal position.Called M$crosoft and got my UPS shipping label its going back to meet its Maker. Hopefuly I get back a Jasper or maybe a Opus. I bought it on April/ 2008 and it was manufactured in Feb. / 2008.
I'll report back as to what I get back!

1) RROD with Xenon, xclamp it, then 74, reballed that (properly, not with a heatgun), worked for 2 weeks, e74
2) Falcon, E74 after a year, currently with UPS
aliman: you won't get opus (since your falcon has hdmi) nor jasper, since they have a load of spare falcon motheboards i think

Yes I thought it was a joke too. So simple. I didn't even hit hard. Just 2 firm taps on the side. Certainly less damaging than the towel trick. A friend of mine did this successfully with his rodded falcon 360 and it's still working perfectly 6 months later. Let's see how long mine lasts. Crazy fickle machine.

I just found out that my HALO 360 has a Zephyr board which kind of sux. Then again another box I cannabilized had a falcon board and 3rrod twice and now it's just a brick(0001 secondary code). The HALO version was even manufactured before the other box. JUL 07. KNOCK ON WOOD.....

Only 360 I ever had was a Xenon, back in 2006. It just died on me a few months ago.

I have a Xenon version and no ROD appears untill now...but dvd reader is died two times...thank you Micro$oft...

What's the word with the Jaspers? Any RRoD's so far?
