Just a Shadow
Well i've decided to tear my baby down and polish her up a bit biggrin.gif
As you can see its in pretty rough looking shape, but you have to factor in that it is now 21 years old, frame is straight and all welds are good though!

I was going to have the frame and all other parts re-powder'd but I decided to clean the frame up for this year so I can get it back together and enjoy it next summer muhaha.gif

Yep, mine is a 1987. The first year of the banshee.

If you shattered your ankle kickstarting a 2 stroke there was probably some work that needed to be done biggrin.gif

I agree the new 450's are some badass quads, but they are pretty pricey nowdays along with it takes alot more money to make power.

I got the frame cleaned up, it looks a hell of alot better than the before picture.
Its still a little rough around the edges but suits me for now. I plan on switching to a newer A-arm chassis in the future anyways.

Hah, nobody would want to see my stock POS. Right now it's naked (no plastic), as it needed a new head gasket when I got it, and still has a pesky leak somewhere around the radiator that I haven't been able to find. Once I put some money and time into it, I might post it up.

I do love these "dinosaurs", though. Nothing better than the powerband of a good 'ol 2 stroke.

I haven't bought a new set of plastics yet so mine doesnt have any right now

The leak around the radiator shouldn't be hard to find, just start it up and give it gas. You should be able to locate easily that way.
Yeah it does take some money and time.

For those interested sorry for the lack of updates. I have it back to a rolling chassis now.

I will take more pics once it has been powerwashed.

I will also be sure to post vids once it's done. biggrin.gif
