Using IMG burn with xbox backup creator, I have a Rosewill RD-162 Burner (4x dl).

I have not had any problems when using verbatim 2.4x discs. But I recently acquired some verbatim 8x discs, every time I try to burn a 8x disc I will get some type of error (tried all speed settings). I tried updating the firmware but the flash loader I downloaded from the Rosewill site isn't working.

can my 4x burner, burn to 8x discs ?
any help/advice for the firmware and can this solve the problem ?
Should I try another program like Clone CD ? (hate to test it and waste a disc)

And why are you trying to burn @ 8x when your drive supports 4x?

I did try the Aopen firmware and no luck, says "sorry, this flash program cannot update this model", were as the Rosewill says"sorry, this flash program cannot update this drive"

i thought the max speed u should burn a disc is 4x i aint know u can burn at 6 or 8x and it would still work
