Hi

I would like to know what you think I should do.

I have bought a xbox 360 premium 60 gb hd hdmi recently and now
discovered that it has a Dg-16d2s dvd drive installed.

Can this drive be replaced ? If so where can I buy a replacement drive ?

Or should I simply wait untill there will be a flash solution for my drive ?
Or what about buying an old console with another drive on or is that too risky?

Look in the dvd hacking forum there is told how to read out the lite-ons key...
Once you have got that order a replacement drive on Ebay and flash the key to the replacement drive.
Insert it into your 360, done...

Is it here on xbox-scene ? or where ?

Another thing.

I am being told that if I replace the drive
microsoft can very easy detect that the drive has been
replaced and then just ban me for life as soon as I log on
to xbox live and play online ? I mean then it would not be very
nice to replace the drive it is correct that this is what I am
getting...

As long as you rip the games yourself and make sure that the backups are good you will be safe, Microsoft never attempted to read out the firmware and banned because of that, all the bans happened because people used inproper backups...

And dont even think about pirated games, this will get you banned from xbox-scene, so watch out what you are saying...

Hi

I have now looked at the spoof dvd post in the forum.

I am good at working with software .
I can only install a cable from my console to my
tv for example. I am not that good that I can do all the stuff
it says you have to do in the tutorial there .

So is there someone that can do this for me then?
some company or private person ?

Or is it easier to buy a used console with the samsung drive.

You could create a thread in the BST forum (buy, sell, trade) asking if someone could do it for you, but I doubt anyone would do it for free. At minimum, you'd have to pay for the other drive and the shipping to the other person. Here is a link to the BST:
