Hi Guys. I might be going out on a limb here, but anyways... here goes...

I have done the searches and read the FAQ's, looking for a good DVD burner to buy for burning 360 games.

Everywhere I turn I hear about these ancient Pioneer models, which aren't even available anymore (at least not here in Norway).

So can anyone please help me out with some good burner options that is actually possible to buy today?

I have found this list - But it doesn't rate the different models

Samsung SH-S202J
Samsung SH-S203P
Pioneer DVR-111D
NEC ND-3550A (all NEC burners seemingly produces "Open tray"-problems - Use another type instead)
LiteOn SHM-165H6S
BenQ 1640
NEC ND-3520
Pioneer DVR-710
Sony DRU-700A
LiteOn SOHW-832S
NEC ND-3500A
NEC ND-2510A
LG GSA-4167B

I have ordered the Samsung SH202J for now - Any experience with this model here on the forum?

Please advice - Thanks!

J.

Do no ask will this burner work? With the latest firmware for both Hitachi and Samsung drive, the burner compatibility is not an issue anymore. Issues are usually the results of media (other than verbatim), defective burner or other PC related problems.
Here is what you can do:

so the reason it is not really updated is that at this point, they make less of a difference. A good burner (pioneer 116, 216, 115, 215, Liteon Ihas120, 20A4, other good brand ...) will do fine if you use good verbatim media.

Wait, so in your list you have the Samsung SH-202 listed? I was just in MicroCenter a few days ago and they had a crapload of SH-202 and SH-223 drives. Are either of those flashable?
