Ok i'll admit i'm a nube but you guys are my only hope.....at least i hope you are?

I bought Samsung SH-D162d SB00 drive flashed with Kreon 1.0 firmware. It came in an external case with a USB connection. I presume this is ok? I'll be burning using an LG "super Multi" DL burner.

I have Xbox Backup Creator version 2.8 and imgBurn.

My problem is when i start the read process it comes back to me with this error..."The drive you have selected to save the file does not support the filesize needed File system=FAT32"

So i'm not even getting as far as media quality burn speed or burner type yet?

I was told to convert it to NTFS wich i thought i did after booting my PC back up it was still FAT32?
If all else fails would a USB hard drive fix this problem?

ANY help would be much appreciated as i have spent countless hours on this already sad.gif

An external USB NTFS drive should work fine.

Out of interest, how did you convert your drive to NTFS? Did you use this Microsoft method?
Stone Cold
Yeah that seems to be how i did it.....but i have followed those instructions twice now with no result...it still says its FAT32 when i check the drive properties?

I know i have enough space on the Hdd but it just wont let me rip the games to ANY file on my hard drive?

The problem deffinately lies with my hard drive i think........I'll have to try an external USB drive.

Interesting that the Microsoft method doesn't work..... smile.gif

The problem isn't the space, its the fact that FAT32 won't support files larger than 4GB, and a DL DVD rip is bigger than that. NTFS has no file size limit.

Stone Cold
Yeah....crazy huh?
It's 2am now so i'm gonna go to bed, i've been at it for at least 9 hours now!

If anyone has any advise i'm all ears smile.gif

And can anyone confirm if an external USB hard drive might solve my problems or not?
Chancer
Stupid question but I assume you have an OS that supports NTFS. XP or Vista?
If you type the conversion command at the command prompt it should convert next time you reboot. If it doesn't work you are doing something wrong, e.g entering the wrong drive letter or similar
Stone Cold
Yeah i'm using XP 2002.

I scanned the hard drive then did the conversion straight after it and at the very end of the scan(very quickly) it says "File may be damaged or not enough disk space...can not convert to NTFS"

So i right clicked my hdd - properties and performed a disk clean up followed by a defrag. It's taking forever so i guess it needed it smile.gif

When thats done i'm going to "check the volume for errors" & then i'll try the conversion again. Fingers crossed smile.gif I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Heimdall, i did'nt see that u confimed the use of a USB hhd mate..sorry for repeating myself.
