How can i play my dvds on my ps3? every time ive tried it says unsupported data, and yes they are original disks (blu-ray are a rip off!)

I have a ps3 connected to my dell pc monitor 2408. it is on the 1080p setting, does that make a difference?

If so, that means settings need to be changed when i wanna watch a dvd, then when i want to play a game?

What region is your PS3 and what region are your DVD's, they must be the same region (e.g. Pal or NTSC)

Actually blue ray prints needs extra graphics quality to be played if your DVD player don't have such system then it may not support. So it will be better to know the problem if you will check it with a computer DVD drive.
