sorry about the wait. UK shipping can be held up for customs inspection. i'm guessing that's what happened.
US orders are almost always 2-5 days unless you're on the coast, then it's usually 3-6 days.

Finally I received the chip,but it doesn't work.I can't flash.

If I go into flashbios, it say the bios is "read only??? manf 0x09 dev 0x00".

Of course, this means it can't make sense of the bios query. So if I try to flash (disk or http) i get unknown flash, halting.

I also booted to Cromwell and loaded the Eurasia flash disk, attempted to flash, same error. (No problems reading any disks, btw, CD-RW and Ritekg04 DVD-R).

I then added a line to the raincoat.cfg file, to tell the raincoat to attempt to flash it anyway.

I added:

flash = 0x0900,"AMD - Am29F080B",0x100000;

This is the actual chip on the modchip. Raincoat found this entry and then told me it attempted to erase the flash, failed, and attempted to write to the flash, failed.

Therefore, it is not an identification problem, its a problem actually writing to the flash chip.

it has a bad memory block on the AMD chip.
a random defect from the AMD factory.

if there is something wrong with the chip,
just send it back.
i will replace it.

you all know i honor returns, so you don't have to go crapping on the thread.


shipping a small envelope is cheap, and i'll throw some LED's in to make up for the trouble.
