Ok, i was one fo the people to get the nxe dash off internet a few weeks early, and installed it to my spare 360 console.
Then, i got to thinking, if this file was made available and automatically performed a system update of my console, could this dashboard file not be modified or edited in any way? maybe use the auto install part to get it to install something else?
tell me if im completely off here, but surely the fact it was a file that installed itself from usb stick, or in my case on my Blackberrys memory card and plugged in by USB, it automatically found it and installed it, there must be some way this can be used to install other items?!
anyone got any thoughts?

all the data that is successfully executed on a 360 (including that version NXE you installed) is sign by MS's security key, if you tamper with the data, you invalidate its signature and the data would have to be re-signed by that key. we need to either get the Security Key (0% chance unless someone leaks it) or find a way to bypass it in order to even think about a new (modded) dashboard. nice try though

or we could search for a buffer overflow such as the softmods (font exploits) for the original xbox.

but it will be much harder now that is for sure....

What are you waiting for??
This is one of the types of attack the security system has been designed to counter and not fall prey to.
