Hey guys I have a Toshiba Samsung drive and recently my back ups started freezing in game or for example would freeze on the loading screen. I did the x-clamp fix(but on the tutorial where it says let your 360 overheat then tighten the screws i didn't do that because i never had the RROD just trying to be very specific), I tried Sony Dl media from best buy because I always use verbatim with no problems. Now i tried adjusting my DVD laser pot and still no luck they just freeze randomly. From what I know like a month before this started happening my sister dropped the the 360 while it was standing vertically the game froze and the disc had that perfect circle scratch and another incident which happened was my brother tried playing these 2 DVD movies (from what i remember I think the movies froze) from my country which were labeled PAL and after he played them I turned the 360 back on and it froze at the start up screen. Then games started freezing. This is from what I remember. If anyone has any suggestions I tried searching up on this and I couldn't find any information pertaining to this so please if anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.

does not sound like a backup issue, it seems your x360 is on it way to a RROD, sorry

if its on its way i did the x-clamp fix does it mean it can still happen? does this mean the xbox is dead becuase its been doing this for well over a month. Is there a way to purposely get the RROD then do the x-clamp fix again like i was thinking of loosening the screews for the heat sinks and let it get the RROD(if its possible like that) replace the thermal compund and tighten the screws back up
Armen1er
anyone? can the heatgun fix work?
Millerboy3
overheat it or heatgun it once it should fix this.

thx for the tip im going to try it now and ill post up the results

Well i tried overheating it by loosening the screws it got into the dashboard and the 2 lights started flashing the taller heat sink got hot but i could still leave my hand on it and the shorter heat sink was just warm I'm just stating this in case it has to really get hot. One more question I wanted to do the Team hybrid X-Clamp mod but then I'm going to do the heat gun fix also so does it matter which one I do first or i have to do the heat gun fix first? Thanks in advance

Hey guys quick questions I just got a heatgun from my dad and it says on the heat gun 500 degrees and 700 degrees is that to much and if I use 500 I was thinking can I just use the gun farther away from the mobo?
checker6
use the lower setting the 500 degree setting and keep it about an inch and a half to two inches away for about 5-6 seconds from the gpu then take it off for 15seconds or so then put it on and do that a couple times maybe 3 or so at that temp should do the trick. It could be other parts too so you can just apply that thought to whatever components you want to make sure they have the solder reflowed. GPU, ANA, CPU, southbridge or whatever one says xbox 360. It wont hurt can only help by doing others too, just watch out for the big capacitors the cylindrical objects and dont heat them and make sure to cover them with aluminum foil with the shiny part facing the heat gun and dull towards motherboard.

I tried this yesterday and it worked a treat. My heatgun also only had a 500'c setting and I used the tutorial HERE

Just keep that gun 3-5" away and moving all the time, I only did for 3 mins (smoke alarm in hall went off!!!) then turned over and done the back as well.

your may take a bit less or a bit more, trial and error, my advice is start slow.

Good luck
