Hello everyone!!! In this topic i tell you How to write games on DVD-R DL!!!
for beginning you need to download ImgBurn 2.3.2.0 exactly this version, because since other can't setup user Layer Break!!!!

1) Install and start program.
2) go "Tools" -> "Settings..." -> bookmark "Write" and adjust in accordance with picture:
IPB Image
3) Then "File" -> "Browse for a file..." -> choose your ".dvd" and write image on 2x or 4x speed
4) if at the end program show ERROR just click CANCEL and wait while track is closed!!!

That way i burn 10 DVD-R DL and all works GREAT! but i'am not sure about backup games from it!
Wrote on Pioneer DVR 111, Pioneer 215, NEC(optiarc).
Tested on: Toshiba-Samsung ixtreme 1.4 and Benq ixtreme 1.4 - works GREAT!!!!

you should know... If you are burning the .dvd, you don't need to manually set the layerbreak for the disc, as the dvd file will do it.
sunnyhundal
*Sigh* we have so many of these, and yeah, you dont need to set the layerbreak if you have the .dvd file
jamesnmandy
to expand on the .dvd file.....even if you dont have one, DVDXMulleter will make one if you are too lazy to type two lines of text in notepad and save as .dvd..........

layer break is the least of problems people have, but good looking out i guess

I just tried this seeing as I had a few -r dl around and it didn't work for me. I got this:

E 16:29:39 Failed to Read Sector 8764 - Illegal Mode For This Track
E 16:29:40 Failed to Verify Sectors!
E 16:29:40 Operation Failed! - Duration: 00:00:29
I 16:29:40 Average Verify Rate: 604 KB/s (0.4x) - Maximum Verify Rate: 2,939 KB/s (2.1x)

And 'Unreadable disc' from 360.

What do you mean by 'not sure about backup games' ??

I just use CloneCD (NOT CloneDVD) to burn backup games, I'll have to check what version I use because im on my lappy atm, i'm sure it doesnt matter though - i use the default settings and just use a slow write speed (1x) which takes about 20-25 mins to burn a whole 360 game. I use the slow write speed to help prevent making coasters!

I use a cheap Samsung SH-S203B drive to burn them.

Ive honestly only made about 3 coasters from burning games for my 360 which is iXtreme 1.4 on a hitachi 78 drive, and i have done quite a lot!

Is that using dvd-r dl as this tut is suggesting or +r dl?? And Verbatims I assume?
I was trying with -r dl's

Hello All,

I have tried with no success to burn on -r dl. I attempted flash the firmware, I used ixtreme 1.15 on a BenQ. I'm waiting for my shipment of Verbatim +r dl to come in. But since I had these -r laying around, I figured I would try so that way I know if the flash was successful or not. I didn't get any error msgs when I flashed. I just wish I knew that it works, <sigh>.

If anyone has any tips please let me know.

I'm pretty sure DVD-DL do NOT allow you to set a layerbreak, therefore they won't work for 360 game backups.

use + instead.

Don't know what this guy was talking about when he posted this.
gyrene2083
Yeah, I'm waiting for my discs to come in. It seems that is the only way to find out if everything went well with the flash. I didn't get any error messages so, I'm hoping I'm good. I'm able to play my original games, I just want to ensure that I can work with the backup files.

Is there anywhere I could check on the system file that will tell me if the dvd was flashed?

Forget what he said and buy +R.

Already ordered. Waiting for my Verbatim DVD+R DL. Should be here tomorrow.
