Hey all Merry Christmas, I am planning on purchasing a new laptop soon and want one that can easily be used to flash the firmware on dvd drives, make dvd backups of my games, plug in my 360 hard drive, and whatever else you can think of haha. I would prefer responses just from people talking from experience smile.gif . My budget is max $1500. Thanks for the help!

thats not really an easy task... but i would just advise getting a laptop and buying a VIA PCMCIA card to go with it. i used my laptop once... never again will i do that. :\

Yeah it really doesn't seem to be easy but im hoping with $1500 theres a good deal out there. As of now im thinking something with an esata port but im really just waiting to hear how others have done it.

esata port is going to be a must. along with a serial (for ck3 lite liteon key unless you have the ck3 pro) some usb to sata adapters might be something to look into with the laptop and an eSATA enclosure to go with it maybe...

Thanks that's what I figured im hoping to hear from someone who has a laptop which gets the job done without any additional adapters if it exists, im pretty optimistic.

I have a 2008 Gateway P-6831FX Intel Duo Core with Windows Vista Home Premium
it has e-sata on it and I tried flashing a Hitachi drive using a esata to sata cable but it didnt
work at all. I think it was do to me having vista but who knows.
