HI,

I have a softmodded Xbox 1.0 with a retail bios 4034. Everything works fine.
But now I replaced the fan and when I am in the normal Xbox bios (with games) and not in Phoenix, the box is getting to hot.

I have to change the fan speed ? Whats the best way to do this? Upgrading to a different bios (which is supported on my xbox 1.0) and can I keep the 4034 and change the fan speed?

Under XBMC everythings works fine, just in the original part of the box in games the machine gets too hot.

How are you softmodded? Krayzie and Kingroach both have options for changing the fan speed. For Kingroach you put fan.bin in E:\NKP11 - have a look here. Not sure how you do it with Krayzie (I'm nowhere near an Xbox at the moment), but I'm fairly certain it's an option under Krayzie Extras.

However, if you want to flash the TSOP have a look at X2.5035 - it allows you to control the fan speed, plus a whole load more.
