Ok im getting a new xbox since they are so cheap now but i keep hearin stuff about version 1.3 . I'm curious if i get a new xbox from best buy or some store and i happen to get a version 1.3 will that mean i can't use a mod chip or that it will be a major pain in the ass to install? I'm just curious on whether the new xbox's they are selling are worth getting or should i try to find a version 1.2? Any help on this is appreciated. Peace"

Glad to see new people comming to the forums. I have been around for a while but i have'nt posted much. (been trying to learn as much as i can without asking too many questions) xbox-scene is full of all the info you could ever need. anyway.... you might want to wait on the executer 2.2pro. hope this helps

here is a comparison :

Thanks I just looked into the 2.2 pro briefly. but im wondering if you can only get it offline or can I find it later on at computer shows? Hope that’s ok to ask I read the rules here and it seems ok to ask. What version of Xbox do you have? Would you recommend 1.3? The pursuit of knowledge has me asking a lot of questions so forgive my ignorance if they seem stupid. Anyway yea thanks for the post.

i have a 1.1 & 1.0 both running executer 2 lite +. personally i see no problems with the 1.3's. as far as where to get the chip i have always bought online usually from dealers endorsed by members of the fourms i know personally.
