I have my normal computer setup which has it's own internet connection in my dorm room.
My room mate has his own setup with his own internet connection.
He has a wireless router and we want to share files. I have a wireless B card in my pc.
How do we make my wireless B card be able to do filesharing with his network but not use his internet connection?

you pc should allow you to set which connection to use for internet. You will also have to setup a static ip for the connection to his router

Connect it to the wireless router, but set it to use a static IP. Only enter the IP and a subdomain mask (probably something like 192.168.1.5 and 255.255.255.0 will work, depending on the network).
This way, the computer will not have a gateway or DNS entries for the wireless network, and therefor no internet.

I guessed it would be something similar to what you guys are saying. Thanks!
