Hey I just flashed my fist Xbox360 yesterday ( Lite-on drive with homemade spear )
and now i wanted to move on flashing an xbox of a friend of mine
( benq drive with 1.4 ixtreme firmware )
But .. when i went to search how the benq drive used to be flashed it only found that it doesn't work with intel chipsets without soldering ?
Now I was wondering, Is this info outdate'd or is there still no other way then to buy the via sata card ?

I heard that you can hexedit Mtkflash to allow the usage of Intel ICH8-9 by writing the specific ports the Intel chipset is on, but I'm afraid that's all I know and haven't personally tested it myself. I played it safe and used the VIA chipset to save me some headaches.

Hi i have done 2 benq with that chipset and jungleflasher so easy and fast

can you please provide some insight into how this was done with jungleflasher and the ich8 for the benq drive...I keep gettting no i/o ports were found when i open jf. THanks

buy a via-6421 card, save yourself a brick laden headache.

Normal Check List:
Have you connected via PORT1 of your sata ports?
Have you tried dosflash, to see if you can detect it on the port?

Do you have .net 3.5?
Have you installed PortIO32?

Normally, if those 4 things check out, you should be good with Jungleflasher. I've helped many people on IRC with all sorts of chipsets, most of which have succeeded.

I've flashed many BenQ's with my Intel ICH7 chipset, so ICH8 will work too.
