Ok, so I think i'm going to be doing the IR receiver/Display button remote power switch from the x-s tutorials section. However, that would be the only thing i would use the remote for. What i'm wondering is if i could get a learning universal remote and program the display button code in and use that instead.
I have an *cough* off brand remote, and i know that for some reason that doesn't work with xbmp. I'm hoping that the off brand isn't sending it's own codes to be translated as well, so i could just use my current remote. My friends and I are all apparantly cheap bastards and have bought the off brand remotes so i have nothing to test my ideas with. Has anyone looked into it? Are the codes indeed the same?
