yea im really hoping they fixed the bug where my dash freezes from 30-2 minutes sometimes. i know this was happening to others as well.

I may be wrong, but after I updated last night, I noticed when I hit the Guide button and went either left or right or something and notice that the RockBand download link I had last looked at was now a link inside the guide menu at the bottom...like I said, maybe this feature was there before and I happened to run across it for the first time coincidentally...

No, that was there already. I noticed that a few weeks ago. This update is probably just a behind the scenes bug fix.

It actually makes sense if it's a mod detection update. It's the first dash update since ixtreme 1.5 was released. It's also an unannounced update - if I wanted to catch people unawares, I also wouldn't announce I was coming to get them.
That being said, it probably has nothing to do with mod detection hahaha

How about the Gamerscore bug? Maybe they fixed it and it's no longer possible to delete the remains of unwanted games? Hope not.

Hopefully they fixed the random freezing while using the guide button to bring up the in game menu.

if you are talking about removing games with 0 gamerscore, that isn't a bug. it is a feature of NXE and probably won't be leaving ;p

and more on topic, as others have pointed out, i'm sure the update is just for 'future features' or w/e the usual bs microsoft spouts about. i wouldn't worry about it.

No, I am talking about games with at least 5 gamerscore. Normally, you shouldn't be able to delete those, but thanks to a bug it is possible.

Funny thing is , I am on live and have not been asked to update.

godamnit this just had to happen when I order my xecuter ck3, even made a custom probe for it already, to flash that damned liteon drive which i got in my 4th xbox that had a failed video card....does anyone have any banning info or update info from any real sources?

I now have to use my xbox vertically just to be able to pop the hdd in and out faster.(the trick to get sound back)

They are talking about people who haven't made an Avatar yet still playing on Xbox Live.

Xbox want's to make it mandatory to have an avatar.

AFAIK you hit the guide button when on avatar selection screen and then Y to go back to the dash, Not tried it myself. Only read it on here

I thought they fixed the no avatar thing, as I remember being signed out of Live when I signed in with an account that didn't have an avatar.

to get sound i just need to turn off my lcd and turn it on again its easy but stupid

another thing that is strange and happens to me is that the no sound problem only affects avi files

if i play a game or see a DVD i dont lose sound ... at least i dont have problems in playing games ... thats good

I got this update, didn't restart my console though. Only thing I noticed that was different was when I recovered my gamertag on my brothers console then went on my console it told me that I had to recover it.

sure it's the weekend, I suggest we wait until monday evening and if then we still didn't get the update, we should call BS.

That's how it has always been. When you recover an account, it deactivates all other instances of it on other consoles.

I don't know anything on the HDMI sound issues as I never had a problem there but I can confirm that my Xbox did do an update over here in the UK around 11am Sunday.

well, i still haven't gotten the update yet. (and i played my 360 every day this weekend, including last night)

random tidbits of info that may be relevant.

1. i was one of the people selected for the nxe pre-launch/beta
2. i have an avatar (i'm not one of the people who glitched to avoid it)
3. i'm in the usa
4. my 360 is a falcon/benq

No update here for me either. I'm using a Falcon with a Lite-On drive and I'm in the UK. Is it possible the upgrade is only being installed to a certain hardware revision of 360?. Other than that I'm guessing it's just some 360s being chosen at random by Microsoft to test something to do with Live at their end.

Maybe it's for Jasper models only, I hope this update doesn't affect gameplay, I thought MS used to like how everyone is at the same dashboard level so they know what is going on and what not.

I have 3 Jasper 360's I use and none of them needed an update.

I'm a bit out of the loop about how to determine which Xbox model I've got but it's an Elite which I got November 07. Updated as soon as I connected to live and tried to play a game.

I got the update 2 days ago and here some info:

Jasper Lite-on Arcade Xbox
120 gb WD1200BEVS upgrade
Only one game installed on the HD, but not played in weeks
East Coast United States

2 consoles updated today.

I'm sure one console is a Jasper MFR: 22-10-2008 Lite-on drive. Update seems to be about 20Mb. Not quite sure but it's taking as long as the first update from original dash to NXE took. So far I haven't seen any changes, but I'm not using the HDMI output.
I haven't checked online gameplay yet.

Well i just hope it doesnt come a new wave of banns soon...

ps: anyway i fuc... hate the NXE.

But just for fun tonight, I will copy my other Xbox live gold account from another 360 that hasn't been used for months (so no NXE), skip the avatar, play online and see what happens.

Probably won't post anything for a couple of days unless it wants an update tonight after my testing.

Tried the TV on/off thing. Didnt work for me, only the quick hdd out/back in works.

Once this is done, I have no issue with sound or wrong reso unless I shut the box off.

Still no update for me.
Got a 60g pro, liteon drive, not sure which version but bought "recently" (3 months ago max) as the liteon indicates.
