Hi! I got a Xbox 1.6 and I wanna do a Slim mod on it, so I got to
remove the DVD drive. After several reads here, I think I need to flash
the bios to bypass DVD drive detection at post. So I've read too that there's
no soldering point to do TSOP flashing on 1.6, so what's the best way to do
that? Notice that I got another Xbox with an Executer 2 inside, is there anything
I could do with that? Thx a lot!

You can install a chip into the 1.6, then flash a BIOS with dvd check removed (or use X2_5035 and adjust the dvd check settings in the x2config.ini file you will create).

Since you already have another hard modded xbox, just use that one for your slim project.

i agree with Alex. if your other xbox is not a 1.6, then you could use flash its bios, and then use the chip in ur 1.6

Thx everyone for these answers. Keeping only the board and connecting it like TR4G said seems to be a very good workaround for this. I got a question tought about flashing with an Executer 2. Do I need to solder something (My Executer 2 box is also a 1.6) in order to flash it?

No. Once it's installed and working you can just flash it. Use Evox (or FlashX), and make sure you use a 1.6 BIOS!

i have an executer 2.3b with the 5035 bios which has a bypass dvd drive check for it which makes it possible to boot up without a dvd drive connected; however, the eject button kept blinking because the xbox thought the dvd drive was open even though there was no dvd drive(not really a big deal but wanted to get rid of the blinking). to get around this i connected three of the pins that the dvd cable connects to on the motherboard(two of the pins give info on the tray state and the third is a 5V). this solved the blinking
