Ok so for the past 2 days ive been reading guides and watching youtube videos trying to learn how to do this hotswap dump with wxripper but im having no luck.

using wxripper ive managed to dump a 7.3gb iso of infinite undiscovery and forza 2, ive used wx360 and explored the contents of the iso and looks as though all the data is there. i then proceed to burn the disc using image burn at 2x and manually setting the layer break, all goes succesfull.

then i put the disc in the 360 and it detects it as a video disc and says "insert this disc into an xbox 360"

so my questions are as follows..

Does hotswap dumping actually work?
Is the problem with my dump or with my burn?
Do i need to have the ss.bin for the iso?

any help on this would be muchly appreciated.

BINGO.

You can't extract an ss.bin and stealth files needed using this method. That is why you buy a kreon flashed drive or a sammy, benq to rip your games.
