I have a busted Hitachi 79 that I'm going to extract the keys from, but just wondering in other members opinions on which replacement drive I should buy to spoof too? a Sammy, another Hitachi, 47,.. 78,.. etc? I read a lot of people doing the sammy on here, but... What would you go with? (wish I could make a poll out of this. ;-)
Thanks,
R.M.

I have done thousands of drives over the years and I can say without a doubt that the new Liteon drive loads backups much better than any other drive. That is of course my opinion.
Here is my order of preferred drives.
1. Liteon
2. BenQ
3. Samsung
4. Hitachi
However if you are concerned with Live much you will be better off getting another Hitachi and just using the circuit board out of your bad Hitachi 79 and putting it into any model Hitachi 360 drive. This way you wont need to do any spoofing and you will still have a new drive. This will only work as long as there is nothing wrong with your current Hitachi 79 circuit board.

I noticed that the Lite On reads better than both Hitachi and Samsung drives. There anoyying to flash but its not hard if you have the CK3 Pro with the add on Probe.

Liteon
Sammy
Benq
Hitachi
Not sure how the Benq is now with 1.5 but with 1.4 it was terrible.

liteon all the way.. thanks to homemade key extractor.. say no to ck3
if i cant get lite on.. benq's are a close second (not to mention the ease of key extraction)
hope this helps
