i have flashed my matrix modchip with x2 4976 02 bios and installed it and when i put in the evox boot cd it tells me "your xbox cannot recognize this disk". does this mean that the installation of the chip or the flashing of the chip was wrong or could it just be a bad boot cd?

Use a color BIOS . . . if you see the color of your choice at boot up then chip is working with homebrew BIOS.

Then probably disk at fault

you mean the original ms dashboard will be blue or red(color bios')?
