my ethernet cable that i use for xbox live is frayed and i was wondering if the small fray in the cable might make my xbox mess up plz reply if you can tell me if it will mess up my xbox?

If bare metal is showing you have the potential to fry the port. I've fried a computer one by static electricity just by touching the end of it (the copper prongs).
Just pick up a new one, shouldn't me more than $10 or so

what if i were to just like tape it with electrical tape would that work btw my ethernet cable is around 75 feet long so it costs around like 50 bucks and i dont have the money

Or you could do what I did - I bought a 1000ft of Cat 5e networking cable at Lowe's that was mispriced (I paid $15 for the whole spool) and bought two of them.
The jacks are only about 1 cent a piece and then I bought a nice crimper online for about $15.
