Exactly how does the amount of money they have have to do with the choice of color? Is there a certain financial level needed to use certain colors?
Personally I see nothing wrong with the red color. It fits in fine with the blood red theme of the Resident Evil series...but I guess someone with some childish need to phrase it as "microshit" would never think of that.

I personally like the new rs5 360, but if the rol was red too, it would of been an awesome add-on.
The red 360 with a green rol looks..nasty. if they did made the rol red, maybe they could of made the error lights orange or something.
Also, a black dvd bezel would of been over the roof!

They should've went with a darker red. If this type of red is the same as their controller they're selling, then yeah, it's not going to look good cosmetically IMO.

They are just standing on the sales desk to make this picture, by 03.12.09 they'll be on the real sales shelf.

I have seen so many different pictures of this thing. Some have black bezel and memory card doors, some have chrome bezel with grey doors. Either way, isn't it clear M$ doesnt care what the consumer wants, and if they do, their test market is very small and unreliable according to this forum.
If you whine alittle louder, maybe M $ will make a pink one to match your pink controller.
I haven't heard anyone crying about them not releasing the light blue controllers in the states, lets start a petition!

While they could have come up with a better design I don't think the solution would be to have RESIDENT EVIL 5 written all over it "gangsta kiddy style". It's an Xbox not a resident evil box. I think they should have done something closer to the Halo 3 system in design with some more detail in it perhaps make it look like rotting flesh (without going overboard). I just don't like it when a system is branded for a specific game, it feels cheap. Instead of being the Halo system it's the Halo 3 system which just seems silly.

Actually you are right, I heard they accidentally packed all the boxes with the pink Hello Kitty system by mistake! =p

The case may not look the greatest color, but the packaging looks nice.
It probably would've looked better if they'd kept it mostly black, with maybe some red highlights, like a red drive tray and card slots, maybe some minor red "splatter" on the top of the case.

don't like it, don't buy it.
instead of being yet another bandwagonner who has to feign coolness by using bs like "microshit"
as for those whining about chrome dvd bezels: if you really don't like it, just spray-paint the darn things to a colour you do like.

I agree, the color is pretty bad. Reminds me of
Atomic Fireball Candy.
On the other hand, if it had been more like this...

Either way, (Color, I mean): Is Mine!! Probably end up pre-ordering from Amazon.Com in a couple of days.
Any word on the board? Jasper?

wow I wish it was that colour... and as for the board it's preety much confirmed to be Jasper, theres a video from major nelson floating around where he unboxes 1 and shows the 150W power brick that comes with it and says the manufacturing date is January 16th. I can;t think of any reason why that would be significant if he wasn't trying to say Jasper... not to mention a 150W power brick won;t work on anything but Jasper, that doesn;t mean that they all will be Jasper.

I think what he was getting at is the lack of design work behind the color choice. I could just picture the 2 man design team sitting around a table for 30 seconds on this one:
"So joe, I guess we gotta come up with a Resident evil 360."
"Yeah? Let's just make a red one & call it good"
"Works for me! Let's go have another beer..."
And btw, if they went with a color other than this, it would probably cost Micro...soft about $93.13 per console more

lol yeah, I don't know how much thought went into it! I deffinately don;t think they did much, because you'd think out of all colours they'd want to stay the hell away from red... but maybe that was their plan to counter the bad press on google when you google red xbox lol!

Believe it or not but there may be more truth to this then we may think.
