Wow.. how nice of #xbins to make their channel invite-only. That doesn't really help us with getting the firmware does it?

Cool, it says invite-only. So how are we supposed to get this?!

Got in. Will try flashing soon.
It says a new update for quick flashing of iXtreme 1.5 Lite-On drives so it seems to be even more simple than ever before.

Mar 7 2009, 05:24 AM
it removes the requirement to have a serial connection to the drive to dump the key information once flashed...
unfortunatly, it tries to read everything over SATA now it seems as 1.51 locked up on me when I attempted to dump a stock unit while 0.0.43 worked fine. I Will try another one soon enough to see if its me or the software.

Seems to me its two different buttons. Load from iXtreme pulls it from a 1.5, and the other button does it through serial.

Does this apply to all drives. Is now possible to do a liteon firmware restore?

Just flashed my benq and all went fine, small weird note though i had to rename the filename for
ix151-benq.bin for some reason firmtool1.3 wouldnt see it and neither would dosflash once i renamed it though it worked fine in both.

Well thanks to the team for this new FW. And as promised to the weekend.
But i have to admit that jungleflasher is totaly complicated... dont get me wrong, ive worked with lots of programs but im afraid of using any of these options in the program... maybe i should have a look for a tutorial or some1 have a link?

If not ill have to wait for a new toolbox version, i really like that tool

I am using iPrep1v006 and i have updated the ixDef files with the new 1.51 benq files that came in the folder but when i load the firmware file it says its an invalid file
Any help would be appreciated

Update-- the new 1.51samfile loads in no problem just the new1.51benQ file comes up as not a valid firmware
Dont know if Im doing something wrong or there is a problem with the file
Again any help is appreciated

Thanks to all the guys at team jungle. Just donated and I suggest that if you use the FW and programs you do the same. This is a massive undertaking on there behalf and they always deliver with nothing but the best. Thanks guys and we all look forward to many great releases in the future.

Hi,
I got my Lite-On flashed about a month ago to 1.5, and got the 3 files (identify, key and inquiry) backed up. After reading a few guides, it seems overly complicated with having to buy/install a VIA card, and a lot of guides focus on obtaining the keys and/or are still about spoofing a different drive, ie quite out of date.
My question is, to REFLASH to 1.51 with the files ready, do I need any of that? Or can I basically plug the 360 drive straight onto my motherboard SATA connectors and reflash that way? Because one tutorial says it works that way. And do I use the DOS flasher or the WINDOWS one? Also, what do I use to power the 360 drive?
Thanks!

Alright, so for Lite-On drives with iXtreme 1.5 already flashed, the info of the release states easier update to 1.51 for already flashed Lite-On drives.
Does anybody know what that means?

just an update from my last post
Used ipre1v006 and even though the new benQ firmware when loaded it came up that the firmware loaded was not valid it still sent it in
i have restored a benq drive and then flashed it with 1.5.1 firmware and all is good
Only posting this as maybe there is a bug with ixDef file or something
Only speculation on my behalf but it did flash the drive and Tom Clancys HAWX plays well
But on behalf from me and many xbox-scene ppls
i thank c4eva and the team from jungle flasher for all there efforts
WELL DONE

What's the changelog for the Hitachi 1.5.1 firmware?
Or is it basically 1.4 with added 3rd wave support?
Also, is it possible to restore the Hitachi drives without an original drive dump? That is, can I just use the generic hitachi files that came up JungleFlasher?
Thank You

I'm much more comfortable using firmware tool box for Hitachi drives, I think I'm going to wait till that gets updated instead of trying jungle flasher.

So it sounds like they just took crc checking of the video partition out... I trust that they thought this through but it still feels to me somehow like there is something here to be worried about.

The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire.

try to turn it off and turn it back on with the tray 1/2 way open.. then try to reflash it again. (mtk flash 32 tab and click intro/deviceID button) if it at least shows some info there attempt the reflash.
or like the dude below said make a usb stick bootable with the proper files and flash in DOS. (I never used via dos but i'm sure it's not that difficult read a couple of tut's for this)

Lots of people are having trouble with VIA chipsets. You may not be able to use JungleFlasher.

Way too easy this time around. Used jungleflasher to spoof the liteon 1.51 fw. copied to flash drive along with dosflash and l-o-eras. connected to pc using diygadget's power adapter. Ran l-o-eras sataport, got status ff72. rebooted pc with dvd power off. ran dosflash, selected spoofed fw and done. All in all took 10 minutes from disassembly to assembly. tested with mlb 2k9 and works great!
I have 2 0079's I cannot seem to restore with this version. I get it unlocked/modeb etc, but when I try to restore it gives me an error. %^^&%&*
Also, with Samsung drives it is randomly giving write errors, but after a few tries it works. Perhaps it is the via card I am using, but I never had issues with other drives before. Will report back once more Hitachi's are tested.

Hmmm... looks like I'll be another one waiting for Firmware Toolbox to be updated before doing Hitachis, then. Can't test my own batch files (see links in sig) until next weekend, but foresee no problem flashing/reflashing 1.51 using them.
Oh, and before anybody asks:-

See LiteOn batch files in links below. Firmware file will need to be renamed to IX151LIT.BIN and the appropriate lines in LITREAD.BAT and LITREMOD.BAT changed. The bits that need changing are clearly marked in the batch files. Same goes for Samsung (IX151SAM.BIN, SAMREAD.BAT, SAMREMOD.BAT) and BenQ (IX151BEN.BIN, BENREAD.BAT, BENREMOD.BAT) batch files.
