Can you use the pioneer DVD-RW DVR-116D to make perfect bakups of xbox-360 games?

Also do you still need to burn 360 games on dual layer media? I thought somebody would figure out how to backup to single-layer by now.

I wouldn't think that a DVR could create a playable backup at all. The format is quite different than that of a DVD-RW and the media used as well. As for single layer; don't count on it as a DL is needed for 9GB of information which cannot fit on a single layer. This isn't like DVD Shrink as with movies you know. I have the DVD 112D and it's great for backing up, but my Kreon is the best as I can put away all my originals after using it.

You are talking about the internal burner for the CPU right?

Yes. I am talking about the burner that you need on your desktop computer to make perfect backups.
Thats sucks that you still need daul layers. Aren't most games loaded with dummy files? I heard recently that you can connect an Xbox 360 to your computer. If that is correct maybe this will mean more functionality with xbox and homebrews smile.gif

well you can add a xbox360 drive to ur pc to rip ur original games from if thats what you mean but as stated a kerion drive is cheap and easy to get then you can use most dvd burners to reproduce your games and keep the originals safe

At no point in the future will you be playing any Xbox 360 games on single layer discs. Just won't happen for a good deal of reasons. You need to buy DL, and good ones at that. Verbatims are the "scene-standard" round here and work 99% of the time.

The 116D will work perfectly for burning images. But you'll need a Kreon drive to rip games or use other ripping method. Check the stickys for all the info you need
