Team Jungle released a new beta version of JungleFlasher(info) (the flasher that came with Team Jungle's IXtreme release):
JungleFlasher 0.1.55 - cleanup to 1.51 We have probably added or changed alot more but this is what we could remember.
Hitachi Support Updated - Portio will only be enabled with "Via Only" ticked, as it was only added to support Via w/o drivers - Via card must also report status (Code 39)... no drivers loaded - Mode Select method removed from Port IO. Mode Select is for USB support, port IO does not support USB.
Modder Mode - Now stops on bad device ID.
Splash Screen - Context enable/disable removed from splash ( added as a ctrl key)
Advanced Ctrl F Keys - Ctrl + F5 key, set modder mode backup directory, clear folder to disable it - Ctrl + F6 key, hitachi read block size 100 --> 2000 ( 78 and 79 FK models will fail on this ) - Ctrl + F7 key, set working folder in modder mode... clear all tabs and save log - Ctrl + F8 key, enable "Free Flash" and "Ram Poke" in Hiatachi - Ctrl + F1 key, enable context menus - Ctrl + F2 key, disable context menus
Lite-On Dummy.bin Serial Fixer - Bug, fixer added drive barcode byte swapped to Identify string, fixed.
Sammy flash - was failing for at least one user.. typo in last cleanup. fixed.
Port Inquiry - Timeout in port Inquiry for drive properties extended from 200ms to 1s
Lite-On-Erase - Dead time after l-o-erase extended from 2s to 3s - dots and timer added for better appearance.
hey, does JF work on a 64 bit OS? I heard it doesn't but this one loads up fine. haven't tried flashing a drive with it though

Nice release but I'll probably stick with the last beta since it works well for me so far with all drives, and I don't really need all the auto functions. I work best manually so that I know exactly what I'm doing.
But really thanks for the release Team Jungle

First time I used Junlge to flash.. Made everything a breeze.. and to think I used to have to restart multiple times to see the drive. Now I can hot swap and bam done...Thanks Again

PORTIO will not be ported to x64. Anything that JF uses portio for(pretty much everything), will not work on x64.

same thing happened to me - best thing to do is either: 1)install an x86 bit OS on another HDD/Partition <or> 2) use iPrep 101 v008

Lite-On Dummy.bin Serial Fixer
- Bug, fixer added drive barcode byte swapped to Identify string, fixed.
Sorry could somebody elaborate on this statement. I used snowmans disk (last released vs which I presume was based on the prev. jungle flasher rls.) to extract the key but havent flashed yet. Is this just how the stored dummy.bin is named or some information that actually got added on to the end of the drive key within the firmware. Sorry for my lack of knowledge still trying to pick up the slack since the sammy era.

Its scans your dummy for missing or bad entries.
And enables you to fix some of it.
If your drive key is bad you need to extract it anyway.

Great to see that this excellent program is being constantly updated. A 64bit version of PORTIO would be convenient for people who have a 64bit OS as their main OS, but personally I can live with booting Windows XP from a USB drive.

just used this release to flash 2 360's (liteon and samsung) everything worked perfectly fine for me, no issues, and both consoles seem to be working perfectly fine, another excellent release.
Thanks.

Just did a liteon and didnt get the usual "freeze" even though the via drivers we're uninstalled. Before hand when they we're installed it never froze. I dunno they fixed the issue though, great job!!!

"- Via card must also report status (Code 39)... no drivers loaded"
My problem is I spent two days trying to get a system setup for modding and tried everyting; and I do mean everything because my system would freeze or crash or turn into a really slow machine every time I hooked up a drive then ran JF.
I tried having the drive on at boot, just before loading JF and after first starting JF.
Finally against everyone's advice I install the windows drivers for the via card. Presto.. worked like a charm! I have flashed 4 Hitachi's, a Samsung and a BenQ with it since then and all of them were perfect.
Is there any way to have this new setting as an option with the default being on rather than forcing to see if drivers are installed?
I would really appreciate any advice as this is the best software out there!

Try disabling your
Floppy Disk Drive Controller in Device Manager. Please let me know how you get on.

You might want to try
uniATA as a replacement driver, this worked on my laptop without LiteOn/Via Freeze, it may be the best all round soloution for you.
VIA's own causes it unless you get the on/off timing right.

I'm afraid you've lost me here. It looks like you are replying to one persons posting at the top and to mine at the bottom. In regards to mine at the bottom; I'm not sure why I would want to install more drivers when the point of my posting was that this latest JF is looking for *any* windows drivers then refusing to proceed.
Aside from that the current drivers I have installed work fine.

that works for me (gets rid of the error message) but it works either way (enabled or disabled)

Thanks Oggy going to try that.. it seems the universal ATA driver site is down.. any alternative places to get them? In the meantime I have disabled the floppy controller as per your instructions as well.

Mar 23 2009, 03:23 PM
The floppy controller should remove the device not ready message.
As for UniATA, I was trying to suggest a full all in one driver you could use.
LiteOns will probably freeze if you dont time the off/on right, meaning VIA works in 95% of cases, but, can be a fooker with LiteOn
Trying uniATA could fix the final 5%, and be the best all in one for you.
Of course, this is just a suggestion, you could just remove drivers / use DOS for Freezing LiteOns.
I myself, would try uniATA and see if it offers 100% compatability.

I would like to use the new versions but they took away a feature or function I have to have which seems to be only available on the original. The open source from files or something, Key, Inquiry, and Indenitfy files. The new versions ask for the original image. I don't have one file or image; I have the 3 files that I have to make my dummy from. Anyone knows how to make this work with the new versions?

this thing keeps getting better all the time.
Using it to update 360's to 1.5.1, and flash new ones just fine.

I had to disable floppy and anything else not connected for jungleflasher to work - no big deal.
It's a great app, and I have no problems, except for one, that is not necessarily related to jungleflasher, but I can't tell:
After i connect a drive, after a few seconds, my system slows to a crawl. Everything is still 100% useable, its just slow as molasses, and doing the steps takes forever.
Any ideas?

That's what mine did until I installed the via drivers.. I have uninstalled them now and disabled my floppy controller and installed the UniATA as Oggy described above. Just waiting for a drive to test it on now!

At present I have one Hitachi drive flashed with iXtreme 1.4 and one TS-943 drive flashed with iXtreme 1.4

Yes after much monkeying about I finally used JF to read the firmware on this lite-on and then created a custom firmware.. went down to dos to flash it there. I have a feeling it is the particular card I am using so I am going to order another one and just do it this way for now.
