Anybody have any game suggestions for this system besides the ones already listed here:

Compatibility Thread

I'm going to put a small Xtras pack together for this system. Datfiles & Artwork sets, and possibly configuration saves if somebody works with me on getting games configured properly.

This is a really cool little system here. Thanks to xyteam for introducing me to it.

Anyways.... there's way too many to go through and a ton of them are text heavy. So if you know any that are in English or are light on text enough not to effect the gameplay, let me know!

Later,

for whatever reason i cant seem to get to the list but i will try again later.
there are a lot of text based games in japanese but the ones which i think you will have on your list are pretty much the best of the best.when it comes to the arcade stuff there is streetfighter2 championship edition.
dont know if its on the list.
check your pm.

Access to this list is blocked. Is there anyway to make it read only for the general public?

I thought it was just me lacking permissions. Even after logging in with my google account I got a denied
error

The spreadsheet works now guys... sorry bout that.

Thanks for the link mtsaint. That's where I originally went. The games in blue are the ones I still need to test. I'm sure I'll find more good ones.

Akumajou Dracula - Takes a LOOOOOOOONG time to load, but it eventually will. No music though... sound test page "plays" the music, but you don't hear anything. ~Rx

Music plays just fine.
Just make sure you select the correct sound driver.
IIRC you have to press 3 (select the one marked in red / FM) during bootup.
Then while loading you'll hear some FM (Genesis/Mega Drive'ish) music.

Gemini Wing (2 Disks) - Works just fine. smile.gif

No game suggestions but I can give you some hints on how to get some games going.

For one.. x-port has the mouse mapped to the left analog stick and mouse button 1 to right analog left, and mouse button 2 to right analog right. These are currently hard coded.

Afterburner is controlled by the mouse. So the "button" is the left mouse button (right analog left) or the user can map a button to the left mouse button.

Akumajou Dracula - as mentioned before. Pick option 3. 1 and 2 are for midi synthesizers.

Arkanoid: ROD - This one is kinda of odd. I could only get it to work by mapping the d-pad to the keyboard. Left = numpad 4, Right = numpad 6, fire (or a) = space, b = left shift.

Deathbrade - Load disks 0 and 1 in drives A and B. When it asks for Data 1 & 2, put disk 1 and 2 in drive A and B. F3 to "insert a coin".

More later.. tongue.gif

Thanks guys!

I kinda just skipped the games that didn't work right off the bat since I plan on testing a lot more and it takes a lot of time to figure out how to configure all of these. I'll add any fixes to my set-up and update the spreadsheets with them when I get a chance.

Akumajō Dracula is Castlevania Chronicles

Lets see....

Super Street Fighter II
Garou Densetsu Shukumei no Tatakai(Fatal Fury)
Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu(Super Dodgeball)
Nekketsu Kōkō Dodgeball Bu: Soccer Hen(aka Nintendo World Cup on NES)
Mega Man (?)
I kinda gave up on this, myself. just didn't seem worth it. (between the controls and the performance) tongue.gif

Thanks for the tips madmab.

Figured I'd send this before I lose it and I have not had any time to add more.

Galaga 88 - There is another version out there that actually works..

Galaxian - A to insert coin. B to start and fire. Don't press A while playing or machine will reset.

Dude... you got the roms, I'll eventually have the configs made for them like I did for Colecovision. This is a great system and shouldn't be forgotten when it comes to videos. We could probably use some MAME videos for all of the video conversions and nobody would know the difference. I think it's amazing that a computer in Japan in the mid 90's perfectly ported so many arcades. There are a lot of new games too. Unfortunately, half of the games for the system are unplayable for english-only speakers, but there are cool games that (I believe) are unique. I hope some day we figure out how to make videos for these games too.

Hey madmab,

Thanks for the tips. That's what these threads are for.

Due to the disc swapping this is the only system that's pretty much useless with .cut's which is a little disappointing. Here's my list of Shoot em ups which I feel are the best reason to play the x68000... besides a few great arcade ports.

Cool man... Keep the list up. I haven't looked at this for a long time but I plan on getting back to it someday. Any new games you'd like to see included let me know.

About the multidisk problem.....

If you have the games already set up in the emulator to load certain disks, would they work with the .CUT files? I understand them not working if it's the first time, but if you have the settings saved beforehand it should work, right?
sotu
Yeah you'd think so, but what happens is you need to load the first boot disk to get started then when prompted you have to swap the disks and you have to do it each and every time which puts the kibosh on .cuts.

I think the one disc games are the only ones that will work with .cuts.
