I have a XS pro. I noticed the it can be turned off so that I can play on Live without getting banned. My question is, How can I set it so that when I turn it off I can get the original dashboard instead of the EvoX one? uhh.gif

that i know you cant hence evo x boots because of the modchip its a 3 party program witch cant be loaded because the modchip/bios is disabled.....i may be wrong

Using most current BIOS revs, you can do this rather simply. The newer X2 BIOS is the one I use.

All you need to do is rename a few files.

First off, I'm assuming your install of EvolutionX caused you to rename your evoxdash.xbe file to xboxdash.xbe and your original xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe.

1) Flash your BIOS to something new. (X2 4976.02 might be a good choice.)
2) Rename xboxdash.xbe (the renamed evox executable) to evoxdash.xbe
3) Rename msxboxdash.xbe (the original xbox dashboard executable) to xboxdash.xbe
4) Make sure your HDD is locked.

Viola! Disable your mod and when you boot, it should come up to the original M$ XBox Dash. Enable the mod, and *POOF*, EvolutionX Dashboard. jester.gif

Hope this helps!

Just one other point:

Make sure your HDD is locked, or your 'box won't boot with the mod chip off.

Good point. smile.gif Edited to include that.

Locking the drive? I don't understand this. Am I to understand that when the mod is on the drive is NOT locked?

If you are still using the original Xbox HDD, and you haven't purposely unlocked it, then it's still locked.

If you installed a new drive, you need to lock it to your Xbox. Config Magic is the easiest way to do this.
