Just tried it and they work great!

You'll need to configure your images first before they'll load properly from .cuts.

Format your Pcsxbox .cut the same as the other xport emu's.

one more reason to someday finally get around to doing this stuff. tongue.gif

I took a little time the last few weekends messing with .CUT files MM... They're great. With BombBloke's batchfile I had 700+ NES US games displaying their boxart right in XBMC within a few minutes. Plus my box looks freaking amazing now that I have wide icons (the cream of the crop) for every emu/category/homebrew/company which are all the exact same size and wrapped in the same border to make them all look like they belong together.

The best part is, the XPORT emus have a setting to automatically exit the emulator when you leave a game. I always assumed this would exit the emulator after any game you played in any situation, but it only applies to when you load a game straight from XBMC using a .CUT file. I asked madmab to make a separate emu that would have this functionality, but he pointed out that it was already there and there was no need to change any code.

It may even be possible to skip loading any emu GUI stuff and even the network stuff (which takes a lot of time when the splash screen comes up now) when you load straight from XBMC. I won't make any promises on madmab's behalf about it, since it's just an idea now, but it seems like these things may be doable in the future. I think it would be great to have the illusion that you were just playing a game straight from XBMC instead of loading a separate program to play them.

I agree, extremely user friendly in the end.
But... there goes the videos... laugh.gif

To tell you the truth, I haven't messed too much with XBMC, ever. I tried a bit and never found out how to use any image for files. (I'm sure I could if I tried harder.) I have always used unleashx.

I am assuming that you can't use vids in XBMC at the same time as the icons?

what if we made the videos into animated gifs i have read some were that you could do that with videos.

bu then what about the box art im no photo editor but couldn't you splice together a no animated with a animated and it still work

just a thought

Best I can make out, XBMC doesn't support multi-image GIFs (it displays the first frame then stops).

I don't know if it's currently possible to have video previews for games in XBMC or not. It would depend on the skin you were using. For example, not all skins support wide icons. PMIII and MC360 certainly do not support video previews.

Anyway...

I can haz FF VII/VIII/IX/Tactics icons plsthnxkkbye? unsure.gif

(If only I could actually get VIII to start...)
