Hello,
yesterday I used Jungleflasher to update my drive from XTREME 5.3 -> iXtreme 1.51. The Read process was successfully finished and so I started the Write process.

My Xbox turned off automatically while the Flash-process. Now my drive is dead - Xbox power-led is just blinking and the drive does not open, if I press the eject button. There is still silence when powering up the xbox. My computer doesn't recognise it in Jungleflasher.

Is there a way to recovery my drive? I still have the original-Firmware dump.

Can you please help me out?
Thanks

PS: I have a VIA 64xx SATA-Controller.
Takashi
Next time have the proper video cable inserted, and it won't power off.

anyways...

use dosflash 1.7 in DOS, not WINDOWS, and write the cfw.

Hello,
thank you so much for your fast answer but i'm a totally newbie in this topics.
Can you explain to me how exactly this works and where I can download the dosflash utility?
And what do you mean with cfw? Is this the File I got during the READ-process of JungleFlasher?

Thank you
Takashi
cfw = cracked firmware, the final ixtreme bin with the key inserted.

and use auto xbins to find dosflash.

the file you got after the read is called OFW = original firmware.
heinerfest87
okay but this OFW i read before starting the write process was already xtreme 5.3, so it has the key included or?
Takashi
you said you started the write process, where is the bin it was attempting to write?

but to answer your question, the Xtreme.bin has the key within it.

You could get dosflash v1.7b and firmtool, again, all DOS.

c:> firmtool origxtreme.bin ix151-samsung.bin
<enter>

c:> dosflash
<enter>

choose the drive
choose W for write, type the final filename <enter>
heinerfest87
oh Jungleflasher prepared the ixtreme firmware for me automatically, after the READ it asked if I want to WRITE the new ixtreme and I responded with yes.

Ok thank you so far, I think I'll just try to reflash my old Xtreme 5.3 firmware with dosflash and in a second step I will retry the update to ixtreme 151 with jungleflasher BUT with video cable inserted...

thanks so far, i'll respond here if i got more informations.
Takashi
Yeah I could re-think this better if it wasn't 2:35am biggrin.gif
and my dumb ass is still awake.

Hello,
i tried what you said. DOsflash but the programm hangs at detecting MTK Vendor (see screenshot below).
I used this command:
CODE
dosflash.exe w 9400 1 a0 0 0 4 sam-ofw.bin 0

Then I tried MTKFlash but the program also hangs (see screenshot below)

Can you help me? Thanks

ok i managed it, first i used L-O-Erase.exe to erase the flash.
then i restarted the dosflash process and keep turning off and on again the xbox/dvd drive while scanning for vendor. i tried it about 10 times and then there was status 0x70 and the flash process started.

it worked.

then i started jungleflasher again to update to ixtreme 151..

thanks for the help!!!

L-0-Erase on a sammy? what next two pin tricks, ffs
the turning off and on did the trick not THE LITEON ERASE command.
Takashi
rofl yeah idk!

I've never used dosflash with command line switches....

just one last question: Is there something I should check, if the firmware is flashed correct? I read something about a drive-serial which should not be blank or something?

Do you mean the xbox 360 serial number because that wont effect anything.

If jungle flasher wrote the flash without any errors, then verified without any errors you should be fine. Next time you attempt to do something like this, read first, read again. Dont try and read and learn on the fly as the result is this clusterfuck.
heinerfest87
no not the xbox serial, the drive serial. you can see the drive serial if you open your firmware-backup file in jungleflasher in advanced-view:

Nothing Id get overly worried about, but it should have a Wisely Loves LAN String in there.
heinerfest87
a Wisely Loves LAN String? whats that? sorry for my bad english smile.gif

after i read my firmware the drive serial was empty.
Takashi
QUOTE
- 'Wisely Loves Lan' error with BenQ original firmware. From what
have seen, 99% of original BenQ firmware has this string. If
you get this message with firmtool and it completes successfully,
chances are your original firmware is fine, it just doesnt have
the standard string in your serial.

Taken from the Firmtool v1.3 nfo...

could you tell me what commands you used exactly with dosflash to get your samsung drive working again as I have done exactly the same as you and cant get the drive to work at the moment
Takashi
c:> Dosflash [enter]
