Guess there is no hope for fixing this eh? Have to join the band wagon and purchase another box?

Well, if it hasn't been opened you can send it back to MS and get a refurb.
If it has, then Idk. Don't really know much about ethernet port hardware and such.

Yah I don't know. Like I said, I don't use Ethernet, I use the usb wireless adapter, so no idea why I am getting this error.

Just heatgun the ethernet area under the board... it solved my E73 once

I narrowed it down. If i unplug the HDMI from the 360 and turn it on, green light.
The minute I plug in the HDMI cable, the RROD happens.

Are you also using the AV cable for sound? Because, if you have the HDMI cable unplugged when you turn it on, shouldn't you get a solid red ring around the xbox?

If it is unopened and giving you errors, send it back to MS for a refurb, better than buying a new one (if you don't have the spare cash?)

It's past the year and the error message for E73 is not covered by the extended 3yr wty. Atleast not that I know of.

To the dude above me, MS only has 3 year warrantys for the RROD (3 red lights) and the E74 error, not E73.. he would have to pay 100$ most likely... and getting your xbox "fixed" by microsoft is no where near as good as going out and buying a brand new jasper.

Thats what I did, went out to EBgames bought a jasper and am now going to watercool it.

As I said, give it a try to heatgun it at the HANA/ANA chip to the Video ports area. YOu are out of warranty, you have nothing to lose now. If you don't know how or you are bored to do it, just buy a new jasper and sell this one as it is on ebay.
